“Good location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Upon arrival we first were a bit sceptical, as the entry area looks quite shabby. But once you're inside, everything looks nice and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked a double room and were positively surprised by the size and style of the room. The room looked, and was furnished, to the standard of a mid-priced hotel, if not better. As our room was on the top floor, we sometimes missed an elevator, but that's just a detail ;)

We stayed here three nights on our trip to Lisbon. The hostel is situated right next to Rossio square; this means you have all the interesting areas of the town within walking distance. Perfect for a long weekend exploring Lisbon by foot. Staff members were very nice and welcoming and all spoke english. They answered all our questions and gave us good advice on where to go and how to get there.

Our room facing the street, nr. 102, was nice and clean and for the price I'd say the size was quite OK. En suite bathroom was nice with a roomy shower, but there was a nasty smell probably coming from the drain. In the hostels defence; we didn't ask to change rooms, but if you're sensitive towards odd smells make sure you get another room. The room is also situated on the second floor right next to the reception. If you're a light sleeper like me this is not a good idea. I woke up everytime a new guest came in late and had trouble getting my sleep. In the morning the water pipes are loud when surrounding guests took their morning showers. As other reviewers have remarked, the walls are quite thin. Getting a room higher up might help both on noise from the reception and from the streets outside.

Summed up: clean, welcoming and friendly hostel with bullseye location. Not the place you go to spend your holiday in a hotel room, but perfect for long weekends on a budget.

Room Tip: Pick a room third floor and up if you're sensitive to noise.

Great stay. Everything in the guesthouse is new, the rooms are clean and there is lots of light, my room had a shared bathroom with a new shower cabin and a good hot shower, shower cleanliness was ok. Sleep quality was good, the street outside is not too noisy at night even if you choose to open the windows, and if you close them it becomes really quiet. The personnel is very friendly and helpful, I was given a map and a detailed explanation of how to get to places. They will also carry your luggage upstairs or keep it after you checkout if you need them to. You can't beat the location, it's 2 minutes away from Rossio train station with trains to Sintra, 10 minutes to Cais Sodre for trains to Cascais, 10 minutes to the embankment, 2 minutes from Elevador Santa Justa, lots of bars and restaurants around. Would stay again, and would totally recommend to others.

My friend booked this hotel for us and I was a little sceptical when it turned out to be a hostel as I've had bad experiences before in super budget accommodation.

However, I could not have been more wrong. The hotel is ideally situated in the Rosia district close to a number of pretty squares and restaurants, and not far from the barrio alto area of bars for the evening. The accommodation was basic but clean and functional. The room included a safe and we had our own bathroom, both of which are not things I would expect from a hostel. We had no trouble with loud late night revellers returning, and although outside was noisy, this is difficult to avoid in a city centre hotel.

In summary a great location for a great price. As previous posters have said, if you're in Lisbon for a couple of days and you want budget accommodation close to a number of the main sights, stay here.

If you are a budget traveller and planning to be in Lisbon just for few days, I think it's the best choice. It's excellent location, right next Rossio train station (really recommend trip to Sintra) and city centre. There are nice, clean and good looking rooms with possibility of your own bathroom.
What I only seemed annoying were too thin walls and could hear everything what happened around me. You are probably not there all day, but you have to prepare that night can be disturbing (especially If somebody gets up early to catch morning flight).

I was a little skeptical having had some bad experience in this grade of accomodation before, however this establishment was great. Value for money was wonderful, and it was perfectly located in the heart of downtown Lisbon. Wifi signal was strong and they let us check in early (we dropped off our luggage in the room, the room wasn't actually ready and needed cleaning). Our room had 3 twin beds (two pushed together to make a double), and so it was more than enough space for was just two of us. Only cons would be: it's a 4 floor walk-up (fine for us as we could use the exercise, but might be a pain if you have a lot of luggage), there are no toiletries provided except soap, and there's only a fan, no a/c. We were there in October so the fan was just fine but it might be a problem in the summer. The guest house entrance is also a little hard to spot as the sign isn't big. I would stay there again if I go back to Lisbon.

It's a very nice, super-clean guest house.
Location is perfect for site-seeing in Lisbon or trips out of Rossio station, and only a 20-minute cab ride from the airport.
The staff were helpful and all spoke good English.
The bathrooms and bedrooms were beautiful for the price you pay.
This is a really nice place to stay .....you're really close to everything. :D
