“Absolutely worth our time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We took a cab to the end stop and boarded the tram there, securing good seats for the Whole Family. The tram trip takes you through many beqautiful neighborhoods as well as down town Lisboa and som streets are so narrow that only one tram can pass at a time. It really gives you a quick feel of the city and you will find Places you may want to revisit. The other end station is at the base of St. Jorge Castle and although it is a bit of a Climb you will be rewarded by a view of the Whole city. (The entrance to the Castle is at the opposite side from where the tram stops.)

“Good way to see the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

Tram 28 goes through the city, and it is a good way to get to places like the castle and the viewpoints in alfama and graca, However, if you are just looking for the "riding on a tram" experience, maybe try one of the others - the tram is nearly always packed with tourists (packed in like sardines situation) and pickpocketing is unfortunately quite common. But overall, definitely a worthwhile experience :)

“Crowded, but visually beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014

Everyone says you should go to Martin Moniz to catch the 28 tram at its starting point. The problem though is that if everyone has been told the same, there is going to be a que. We stood there for around 1,5 hrs before we managed to get on the tram and do not be surprised to see impatient people skip the line. The trip is forty minutes but is the initial first area, around the castle, which is the most interesting. We got off there and strolled around the neighborhood, which was a good experience. :-)

“A must experience in Lisbon!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

It was an amazing ride from Martim Moniz to Estrella park. It clattered and bumped along, slow and fast. Thought a maze of narrow streets and thoroughfares.
You see some of the real Lisbon.
Go early about 9.00am with the locals..it is not busy. We paid for one way in the tram, about 3 euro each. At Estrella park you can either cross over and wait for the tram to return to the city or take a taxi...cheap as the tram and quicker!
All over Lisbon you see beware of pickpockets... If you travel during busy times keep you bags close...if you can travel early it's so much better!

“Go early with the locals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014

This is outstanding, an historic, clattering route through narrow, winding streets, up and down steep-ish hills. The scenery ranges from modern city squares to ancient castle walls, tiny artisan shops to the seat of government and from sea views to the Se cathedral. It seems to be full of camera-wielding tourists for much of the time. We took a breakfast-time trip, were first on board and were joined along the glorious route by locals on their way to work. Well worth an early-ish alarm call - and guaranteed to raise a few smiles.
