The best thing about this hotel is the location. You step outside and the queue for the historic Tram 28 is right there. Easy walking distance to lots of sights and restaurants. The second best thing about this place is the rooftop bar. Beautiful views of Lisbon. And the bar itself is very nice. Modern seating w nice low coffee tables. They provide blankets in the evening when it's chilly. Very cozy way to have a drink before headed out to dinner. All of the bar servers were excellent. As for the rest I give it 2 stars. Cranky front desk. But they did speak English. And in all fairness a couple of them were polite and helpful. Couldn't get temp controlled in the room. It had a mind of its own. We were either freezing or burning up. Two pushed together twin beds were uncomfortable for two. I kept falling in the crack. Our room faced the plaza and it was quite noisy beginning at 6:00 am w delivery trucks etc. There is a charge for WIFI unless you're in the lobby or bar and you have up keep re-entering the code. The rooms were ok. Bath was updated. But you'd be showering along, minding your own business and just be suddenly scalded by some strange water surge. And I mean scalding. I could not trust that shower and had one foot out the door at all times after that. Overall it averaged out to a decent value though.

This central location to the city centre amenities is great, The roof top bar in the place to be at dusk. The restaurant also has wonderful views. The food was good and the drinks even better. Though a large hotel that was busy it never really felt crowded.
I was a little disappointed that there was not a pool, but I still would highly recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: An outward facing room would get the best view.

Very elegant hotel in a central zone of Lisbon, just about ten minute walk from almost every mundane attraction in town. Breakfast is gorgeous even if the other meals seemed a bit monotonous. Rooms are spaciuos and well equipped and the staff very friendly. There is a wide lounge and many different areas to eat and most of all a gorgeous roof garden.

I stayed 3 nights with a group in the hotel Mundial Lisbon. My single room was spacious and comfortable. The roof top bar (a bit cold after sunset) was superb as was the 8th floor restaurant. What views! We ate in the 8th floor restaurant, good meal. The location was very central. A short walk to Rossio square with bus and tram stops also a Metro. We took the minibus to S George's castle whcih was clearly visible from our hotel. The vintage tram stop was by the hotel. I would go back to this hotel.

If you're new to Lisbon, you should be aware that there are dozens of good 4*/5* hotels in the semi-suburban areas, but just a few hotels in the central area around the Baixa quarter / Rossio Square. The Mundial is a very good full-service, 4* hotel in the most central part of town.

As others have noted, the lobby is very busy at most hours, but away from the lobby it tends to be quiet and calm. I had only a one-night stay, but I would have been happy to extend my visit for much longer. Dinner in the top-floor restaurant was delicious, and the service was excellent. My room was quiet and well-appointed. I have a friend who has booked the hotel for many groups over the years, and she is devoted to this hotel.

I stayed for 7 nights at Hotel Mundial and I have to say, it was quiet a nice hotel with very nice and helpful staff. Even with my selective eating habits, I was able to enjoy the breakfast buffet as they had a lot to offer.
The room was veeeery spacious and clean. All my requests were fulfilled such as bathtub, room with a view and close to the rooftop bar.
You have free WIFI in the bar and reception area. and have to pay 15 EURO for 72H of internet which was a fair price.
You are close to the shopping area and you need only to leave the hotel and you are in front of the famous tram 28 stop.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to families, singles and couples.

Room Tip: I had room 814 which was close to the rooftop bar and had a view on bairro Alto.

Spent 3 nights here as part of a great deal through British Airways. Chose the hotel due to its central location. Arrived at the hotel 4 hours before check in and was given my room straight away as ready which was very welcome after an early start. Room was on the 4th floor overlooking the service yard and a building site adjacent. Although no real view the room was well fitted out and bathroom nice. I did not hear much from the construction but was out all day everyday.

The roof top bar was very pleasant and offered good views and the bar in the lobby also pleasant and had some live music.

Breakfast was okay but very busy due to large groups. Was seated pretty quickly after developing wide arms to stop people pushing in front as "the rest of the group" was already seated. After a few glares and wide arms people stopped pushing in. Due to the large number of groups more seating would be an improvement.

The location was excellent and could walk pretty much anyway and plenty of places to choose from for dinner.

Room Tip: Probably go as high as possible due to street noise.
