Great hotel in a perfect location, no romance, but excellent service and perfect walking distance to all attractions in Lisbon, you can go everywhere on foot. Wifi and safebox only for money. Breakfast quality is good.Easy and quick subway ride from the airport. Tram number 28 is right outside, enjoy the beautiful old town way up to the Alfama.

Room Tip: Tram number 28 is right outside, enjoy the beautiful old town way up to the Alfama.

Amazingly this hotel was recommended to a group of us by a travel agent - I have no idea why. It is nowhere near its four star rating. The bedrooms are small, cramped, dusty and ours had a smell of damp. Bathroom was tiny. Beds were small, uncomfortable with small hard square pillows. Staff were incredibly unfriendly. Breakfast was mediocre. The only redeeming feature was the rooftop bar which was fab, with beautiful views over the city and the staff there were great. Lovely city. Shame about the hotel.

Room Tip: Not 103 - worst room in hotel.

In a previous review I mentioned the Hotel Mundial as they referred us for a Fado evening that was a complete disgrace and rip-off. Therefore I will start this with a warning to people staying here not to ask for advice with regard to this. You will be fleeced and I suspect the "information" staff receive a referral fee. Somebody must do for what they charge. Whatever happens do not go to "A Severa" for a Fado evening whatever you do.
Anyway, back to the hotel review. We stayed here for five nights and found it quite nice. A good location near to Rossio Square and easy access for the trams and Metro.
The room was a good size and we actually found the bed and pillows comfortable. The cleaning staff did a great job with the room every day. The bathroom was OK but I had an issue with the shower. It would run at the required temperature for a while and then go very, very hot. This could have been dangerous for a child or an adult.
The air-con was useless. We had it on cold and maximum speed for all five days continuously and we could not get the room to cool down below 21-22 degrees. What it would be like in July I dread to think. The noise did help to cover some of the street noise apart from the last night when half of Lisbon were celebrating Benfica winning the league.
The breakfast buffet was reasonable with a fairly good selection of hot and cold food. Our stay included a free evening meal in the Jardim restaurant on the 1st floor and as we arrived late on the first day we decided to try it. Poor would sum up our meal very well. I know we were on the fixed menu but it was not good. It was a good job it was free.
Finally the roof top bar. Great views but bring a wad of cash. I know you are paying for the view but some of the prices were steep. Some of the prices were more expensive than "Ozone" in Hong Kong and that is a bar with a view.

Room Tip: We had a room on the 6th Floor on the front of the hotel overlooking Praca Martim Moniz. The street...

I am just back from a weekend trip with friends. The Accommodation is very poor, the beds were rock hard as were the pillows. We had to request a room change as it smelled really bad of a mixture of smoke and mould/damp. We had a triple room and the 3rd bed was shoved in behind the door and was tiny - they could hear all the foot traffic pass by - There is no fan in the bathroom and no conditioner, only shampoo -My friend was charged €4.50 for a can of coke in the bar downstairs which seems more reflective of a proper 5 star hotel. The Roof Bar really is fabulous and the only positive experience of staying In this dank stale old room. Yes it is central but taxis are so cheap, I wish I had of paid a bit extra to stay somewhere with crisp clean sheets and comfortable beds- Our hotel rooms definitely detracted from our great trip to Lisbon

Room Tip: After ringing reception to change us from a smoking room we also had to phone back from for soft pil...

I try and search out unique cocktail bars when abroad and this was a gem.

No need to be a resident. Take the lift to the 8th and follow the rooftop signs. Not a lot of seats with backs but easily made up by the quality of cocktails and excellent service.

Spend plenty of time doing nothing.

This isn't a 4 star hotel. The only saving grace is the lovely rooftop bar and the staff at the bar who were super friendly. The rest of the place is a dump. Horrible bedrooms, uncomfortable beds, pillows like bricks, a tiny bathroom and worst of all a used shower cap in the bathroom - nicely repackaged for the next guest to use. It even had a make up stain on the elastic. Pay a few euro extra and stay at the Sheraton which is pure class. This place is YUK.

We stayed for two nights in April. Easy to get to from airport on metro, right next to a couple of metro stations. Check in was easy, room was big and clean (altough bed and pillows very hard)and had a good view over the square. Breakfast was good for a (mainland) european hotel. Lots of choice, cooked food nice and warm.

Good location for city centre lisbon- hotel is at sea level, so no hills to naviage to get home.

We found the rooftop bar dissapointing, especially as it was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel. The area is very small, and is only open when the bar itself is open (from 18.30). It would have been nice for the rooftop area to be open all day for people who want to sit out in the sunshine and admire the (excellent) view.
