Description: More than 150 wines by the glass. Port wine flights. One of the best selections of portuguese cheeses, and charcuterie, combined in mixed boards. Handmade canned fish delights. Rare and old Port and Madeira wines collection, also by the glass. Please note: this is a small and informal traditional wine bar with tapas of cheese and charcuterie that does NOT have any cooked meals; opens around 6pm and starts closing at 11pm, therefore the options breakfast/brunch and late night do not apply; closes on Mondays. Thank you.

The expertise of the staff combined with the wine and food offered made this the highlight of Lisbon. The owner made us feel welcome and made tremendous suggestions. We only had 90 minutes there bet next time I'll carve out at least 3 hours.

“A truly relaxed and wonderful night....thank you.”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

What an amazing treasure for Lisbon. Booked for my partner's birthday as a surprise (he is not a great wine drinker). The atmosphere was charming, the food was amazing, the wine was perfect (even had my partner hooked) but the real icing on the cake was the expertise of those working there and their knowledge of all produce from Portugal.
A real must when in Lisbon but book as space is limited and you don't want to miss this amazing, exclusive experience. We will be back!

“Go for the wines!”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

This is a winebar and not really a restaurant. Don't get me wrong, they have some wonderful cold dishes and cheese, the tapas style.
The people working there are very kind and helpful and they do know their portuguese wines. You'll be safe in their hands. If you can't decide between two (or more) wines? Don't worry, they let you taste them.
So if you are interested in wine, this is a must. If you are looking for a heavy meal, go somewhere else, but come back another time for a bite to eat and have a glass of wine (or two, or three!).

“Book Early - Totally Worth It!”
Reviewed 4 July 2014 via mobile

The staff tries to create a cozy hangout that feels more like a coffee shop than a restaurant. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and gave some great recommendations for sampling all that Portuguese wine & cheese have to offer. They gave us the whole evening with them. We saw the staff turn away several parties looking for tables - a testimony to the popularity of the place and their resolve to keep its intimate experience. Calling a taxi for us at the end of the night capped off their excellent service. We really enjoyed our meal at BA and would highly recommend them to anyone visiting Lisbon, especially wine lovers.

“Super service”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

The commentary and taste samples that come with the wine selection make this a terrific treat. The food is simple and requires no cooking, but it was outstanding--from the hand-picked and -packed sardines to the wonderful Portuguese cheese and Iberian ham slices to the intense jams to accompany the cheese. Reservations essential and well worth the effort.
