“5* for Executive Sky Club, 4* for hotel”
Reviewed 22 September 2012

Chack in. We booked our room over hotel site, package wich include club suite, dinner in room, massage and using spa. 3 weeks before our trip we send some room preferences and hotel confirmed that. Although we got that confirmation letter they did not gave us room which we asked and because they were aware of that, we were upgraded to next level room (Deluxe suite). I must say that staff who are in charge for executive guests are very very dedicated and really are giving all in their power for guests, so special thanks for that team. Next day they met our wishes and moved us to another room (Club suite).

Room. Club suite (see pic) is good equipped, very spacious and cozy. If you are lucky to get higher floor you will have beautiful view over Lisbon. Beds are excellent. The only minus in room is that there are no separate shower and bath in bathroom, and bathroom looks like you're in an old hotel.

Food. One dinner that we had in our room was excellent, so I think that room service is good. Also, breakfast is rich, with possibility to eat outside on terrace. Plus for executive guests is Executive Sky Club which also offers breakfast. I highly recommend that you should not miss breakfast on 24th floor (Executive Sky Club) with indescribably beautiful view.
SPA. Nice, spacious with many massages and many other relaxing offers. For a basic use of spa, do not expect too much. Classic whirlpool, sauna, steam bath...in many hotels you got all that for free. Massage that we got also was nothing special by me. But if you have extra € to spend you should try.

All in all, nice 5* hotel, comfort room, helpful stuff, next to metro station and zoo.
Taxi from airport cost max 10€, keep an eye on the taximeter and that is final price.

Room Tip: Book suite if you can, it worth extra money. Ask for a room looking over Tejo river, beautiful view.

It was quite quiet when we went on a short 2 day business trip which allowed maximum schmoozing from the staff who were all very attentive.
I got the impression that the hotel is probably mainly used by business people for meetings etc... And it gave a good impression when our business guests came to collect us the following morning.

Although right in the heart of the financial district the hotel has a wonderful little outside oasis set down below street level surrounded by well established trees with ambient lighting and water features which offered a really nice place to relax in the evening with a drink after a hard days 'business'.

In the evening we headed down for a swim which was quite interesting as we had to wear swimming caps, after debating as to weather or not a bald person would be required to wear one we stumped up the 2euros and were escorted to the changing rooms, which were all spotlessly clean.

The pool water was warm and very little chlorine which was a pleasant change, the whole area spotlessly clean and no kids which was nice.

Returning to the changing rooms we discovered a very effective swimwear spin dryer which meant that we didn’t have to carry dripping swimwear back to the room.

Breakfast was superb with everything you could imagine on offer and very attentive staff.

We had booked bed and breakfast so in the evening we ate in the outside bar area, a little pricy but the food was good and you are right in the city so I wasn’t shocked by the cost.

We only had a flying visit but it was just the ticket and I would certainly return.

Room Tip: The hotel has 24 floors and we were on 6th, if you head up higher I should imagine you get a fantast...

Dear Guest,

We thank you very much for your comments on tripadvisor regarding your stay at Corinthia Hotel Lisbon.

The hotel facilities are developed to fulfill business requirements for either business or leisure guests. The conference facilities with 16 meeting rooms over a 3000 square meter are ideal for business purpose on the other side the spa facilities, pool, gym and a Terrace Lounge facilities may definitely enhance guests who are coming in leisure.

We are very happy to read that overall you had a good experience and that you found the breakfast superb.

We look forward to welcome you next time you are in Lisbon.

I was a little concerned that the Corinthia might be too far from the City Center after reading a number of reviews, but the location could not have been better! We enjoy, and make good use of the Hop On / Hop Off Tour Buses, and there is a stop just next to the Corinthia, which we used for both City Tours, as well as a quick lift to and from the City Center. The Hotel itself is very, very nice, and has all the amenities that one would expect.

We stayed at the Corinthia for two nights in August 2012 (16th / 17th) whilst we were en-route to Morocco. It was a generally excellent hotel, with nice decor and excellent service from most staff, and we would have given it a 5 star review if it wasn't for a couple of fairly minor issues, neither of which would prevent us from returning in the future.

We arrived in Lisbon from Toronto via Madrid and although we made it there on time, our luggage was delayed. We had intended to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, but as we were luggage-less, we hopped on Aerobus 2 which stops almost directly outside the hotel. There is also a metro station very close by, and the tourist sightseeing bus also stops outside the hotel so getting to and from the hotel on numerous forms of transport proved to be extremely easy.

We had booked a room with access to the executive lounge which included light snacks during the day and evening, and breakfast in the morning, so freshening up in our room and then having access to the lounge for a few afternoon canapes and some refreshments (including complimentary beer and wine) was quite pleasant. The breakfast the next morning was also excellent. lots of choice and a chef there to cook omelettes/waffles to your taste. The view from the executive lounge was also excellent.

I do not remember the staff person's name that was on duty on the afternoon/evening of our first night (16th) but she was also very helpful. After showing us around the lounge and hearing our story about the lost luggage she made several phone calls through the rest of the day/evening to check on its status and kept us informed. It eventually arrived in the hotel after midnight.

If I had one tip about this hotel it would be to upgrade your booking to include the executive lounge. It is definitely worth the small supplement charged.

The rooms were a little small but as we didnt intend to spend much time in them other than sleeping at the end of a long day of sight-seeing then it was not an issue.

Reasons for not giving 5 stars ....

1. The hotel restaurant (Tipico?): On our second day we ate in this restaurant at night. Service was pleasant but extremely slow, so much so that the manager came over to our table to apologise and we received complimentary glasses of wine after we had waited over an hour for entrees.

2. Executive Lounge (day 2): The executive lounge was great on day 1 and breakfast on day 2 was excellent as mentioned above. However, on day 2 we popped in to have some pre-dinner canapes/snacks in the early evening and found half the plates empty and virtually nothing was being refilled over the course of our visit. We were disappointed as it was very good the previous day.

3. Mini-Bar: Most of us know not to use a minibar in a hotel room unless we dont care about overpaying for snacks or really need something, especially in a hotel where you have access to all of that for free in the lounge! However, this is the first hotel I have stayed in where I have been charged for room temperature water left on a counter-top. A little sneaky that !!!

Overall, a great hotel which may not be in the centre of the tourist area but is still good for access to airport, business district and tourist areas alike with plenty of transportation options. Pleasant and helpful staff. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: Book one with access to executive lounge and breakfast in the morning. it is worth the extra !

Stayed for two nights at this 500 room hotel. Everything seemed to be perfect, though in fairness the place was not very full as there did not appear to be any conferences on, which they are geared up for. Consequently, the polite and knowledgeable staff were not under much pressure. A seemingly total absence of minors certainly contributed to the pleasant ambiance.
The bed and bath rooms were both very smart and spotlessly clean with all the trimmings that one could wish for.
On the second floor the swimming pool was pleasant and the Gymnasium and treatment areas appeared to be well equipped. You need a bathing cap for swimming but these are available for purchase from the entry desk. A moisture extractor machine removes the need to carry dripping bathing attire after your swim.
This hotel is situated in the financial area, which suited me fine for my out of town visits. It was easy to access from the airport [Aerbus 6.40euro, 20mins and taxi 7.50euro 15mins].
There appeared not to be a great deal of choice for restaurants within ten minutes walk but in fairness I did not spend much time on research. Corinthia food was good but pricey, with breakfast being the star turn. I felt totally relaxed after my business trip, which is not often the case with the more modest establishments and I would not hesitate to return.

Room Tip: My room was on the sixth floor at the front of the hotel. I guess that one might need to go up sever...

My room was No. 620, and I thought it was small for a five star hotel. The room had one queen size bed. There was adequate lighting, a desk and a chair with a TV over the desk. There was one upholstered chair, a beige colored carpet, wood and a violet colored leather headboard, large round mirror over the bed, a good view of the beautiful gardens and nearby buildings, large bathroom with toilet, bidet, and bathtub. The closet was adequately sized. There was a small round table by the window, with a glass top. There were blackout drapes.

The breakfast buffet was served in a very large and elegant restaurant. The doors to the patio were open and guests could eat out on the patio. There must have been about a dozen hot entrees, plenty of cold cuts and fruits, and a large variety of bread.

Near the reception there was a decanter of sweet wine that guests could try. The hotel is quite elegant and the staff is very friendly.

The metro station nearby has at its basement a small convenience store with drinks.
