I would recommend that before you stay at the Corinthia you are aware that it is situated in the commercial area of Lisbon and there is not a great deal to see or do (apart from the Zoo) in the immediate vicinity. Having said that it is extremely convenient for the airport and only about 20 minutes by metro from the centre of the city. We were fully aware of this before we arrived so not disappointed.

All the staff were extremely polite and the service in general was faultless. Our room was exceptionally comfortable, roomy and impeccably clean. Whilst we didn't eat a main meal in the hotel, breakfast was full of variety, fresh and delicious. The beers at the bar were pricey for Portugal but not more than you would expect in a 5* hotel.

If you are looking for a quirky hotel full of character this is probably not the place for you but if you like service and comfort at exceptional value for money I would thoroughly recommend the Corinthia.

(Didn't go to the spa so can't rate it).

Room Tip: Go for the 25 euro upgrade if you can - it was well worth it!

Stayed here end of March and enjoyed the quality of the hotel. It is abundently clear the owners take great deal of care and attention with the decor and look of their hotels.

Some minor adjustments could put this up a bracket.
Hotel room aircon was not working and the room stuffy, in house movies not working despite a few calls to the desk and no free water in the room. I think if you are going to cook people in the room at least give them some water. The buffet style restuarant was never open if you wanted to dine early and the breakfast offer at check-in seems a little on the cheap and amateur side. Other than this i would have give the hotel 5 stars.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for sharing your review regarding your experience at the Corinthia Hotel Lisbon.

I am sorry that our fantastic room could not be enjoyed at length as it was too hot. Normally our heating system provides a good and ambient temperature across the hotel and we apologize if the temperature was placed way too hot. Recently we got fluctuating temperatures between Night and day and as the Hotel systems are centrally controlled we will endeavour to ensure a more consistent level of temperature in all our bedrooms. I am sorry for this shortcoming.

We look forward to welcoming you back in the spirit of Corinthia the Craftsmanship of Care.

We stayed in an executive room on the 20th floor, access to the executive lounge was a big plus. Breakfast is an eyecatcher, good variety and very fresh. The staff was very professional and friendly (except for one older guy at general reception who was rather rude and unfriendly). They cater for their executive clientele well with extra ammenities and service above par. Rooms were on the small side and a tad outdated (old bathroom, small queensize bed), in my opinion not executive level compared to others I have stayed in. Guest services were very helpful in planning our trip and arranging tickets. Did not have time to check out the Spa area, but this looks very promising for a next trip. Hotel is conveniently located in the business district (which allows a little more quietness), but with metro and trainstations closy by to get to the city centre easily.

Booked online. Offered an inexpensive upgrade to a junior suite which we accepted.

Lovely room. Chocolates on the bed in the evening. Delicious breakfast. Very friendly staff. A 5* hotel at budget prices.

Only downside is that it's a bit far out of the city but Lisbon's very cheap metro is spitting distance away (Linhe Azul) and this takes you rapidly into the centre.

I only stayed there for two nights for business so was not able to take in much in the area - Rained the day I was there too. The hotel was very nice, rooms were quite adequate for a business traveler - not your typical European small rooms. Queen size bed. Wireless free. Didn't use the breakfast buffet - 14 Euros when paid for at check-in.....18 if not. Still a good deal for the room itself.

Room Tip: No special tips.

We stayed at the hotel for about 9 days in March 2014.
The hotel is close to the Jardim Zoologica/Sete Rios metro station, so even though you're in the rather dull "financial area" of Lisbon, the airport, the city center and the more popular spots of Lisbon are all within 10-30 minutes, depending where you need to be.

What really makes this hotel stand out is the people working here. Even though they're sometimes understaffed (like at the front desks - you can have a bit of a queue here- + in the restaurant Tipico - slow service, even when there weren't too many guests), they really all do their absolute best to make your stay pleasant. Always smiling, caring, extremely corteous. The staff is by far the best I've ever experienced in any hotel so far. From the ladies at the spa desk to the waiters on the top floor to the housekeeping people to all the other hotel-workers that I haven't mentioned now: it was really the people lifting the whole stay here to the higher level.

"Extra services" and requests at the front desks were (next to the queues) no problem: be it dropping off your postcards at the "guest services" desk or asking a bit of info about Lisbon or the public transport: everyone was trained well and could answer our questions and requests swiftly. We had to change rooms during our stay due to noisy people arriving next to us and in front of us (who kept making a lot of noise all night long) and this was arranged within a few hours: we went swimming, came back, and our luggage was already in the new room.

The spa was well worth it. I'd really recommend to visit it, it's only 20 euros per head (+extra fees for massages and stuff like that.) The swimming pool isn't the biggest but was good too (and free.)

The rooms are OK: clean, not too big but not too small either, interior was OK but nothing special.

The "executive suite" option was rather nice. We didn't see many "executives" so don't be afraid of the name: it's just the top floor where you can use computers, get a drink or a small bite, read a newspaper and rest a bit in the sofas. Handy.

I can understand that some people rather have the feeling that this is not really a five-star hotel but rather a four-star hotel. Main reasons of criticism (however they might be nit-picking for some) to support that statement for us are:
- The rooms were OK but not all that great, and I concur with what someone else said: there are far too few power sockets in the rooms. One near the bedside table (to charge your phone for example) is some kind of minimum for me.
- The snacks and breakfast on the top floor (executive suite) could use a bit more variety. For the first part: drinks were plenty (water, fruit juices, Fanta, tonic water, 7Up, champagne, beer, coffee, tea ...) but the snacks were the same day after day: some crisps, some cut vegetables to dip in a sauce, the famous Belem pastries, some nuts and a bit of fruit ... Even though this might seem like a lot on first sight: after about a week, you kind of wish there was something else to grab.
For the breakfast part: also this was the same day after day. It's not that you don't get many things to choose from, but also here: something "extra" every few days like I've had in a few (cheaper) hotels would've been nice. The fruit juices (apple juice, grapefruit juice, carrot juice and orange juice) were terrible, I think they're made with some kind of syrup or something. Really bad.
The restaurant Tipico wasn't that great either. I've written a separate review for that: friendly service but very slow and "meh" food.

Room Tip: The higher the better! Enjoy the view over Lisbon.
