“Great location, helpful staff, nice room”
Reviewed 30 March 2011

The hotel is in the center of the city which is brilliant. The staff was very helpful when we asked them for information, prints etc...The room was nice & quiet, a bit humid but clean enough. There is free wifi. Breakfast was good, English& Continental.

We pre-booked 3 nights at a nonrefundable rate. When we arrived at the no frills, but tidy lobby, the staff was courteous and gave us keys... to a twin room. My fiance had specified a double in the reservation. Not only did the front desk staff not acknowledge their oversight, but at first they neglected to offer a reasonable solution, stating the hotel was fully booked and we could "push the beds together".

When we protested, new staff emerged and offered us a double room. Unfortunately, this very small double room included chipped paint on walls and furnishings, dusty and dark hallway and room, tattered linens and towels, only one plug outlet, noisy heater, dead batteries in both remotes, VERY uncomfortable bed, noisy neighbours above and only intermittent hot water in a tired bathtub, with peeling finish. Opening up the window to "air out" the staleness revealed an odour of rubbish. Next door to the hotel was a convenient mercado, but outside its entrance locals drank and bickered loudly well into the night for the duration of our stay. The breakfast was average and served in a tidy room. Wifi was advertised in room, but I only got a signal in one corner of the lobby, which the staff directed me to. Alternatively, you could pay per minute to use one of two computers near the front desk. We have travelled Europe extensively and can honestly say the website photos for this hotel far exceed its actual condition. The location was central and convenient, but all in all, this hotel was the worst part of our trip to this otherwise charming city.

Great location and very friendly and helpful staff. But the hotel is looking "tired": the corridors and rooms need renovating and updating. A practical place to stay for our one night stay, but not somewhere we would have wanted to spend longer.

dont be put off by the outside as inside is very modern and incorperates some very old walls and arches.
very clean , good breakfasts in interesting basement room.
staff helpful and speak english.
location could not be bettered.
ask for top room as you do get a sort of view and is quieter.
we got a very good deal in feb/march so was excelent value for money.
if you want a good indian meal, turn left as you leave hotel by lights, walk about 100 yards and then cross road and walk to top of steps, its then on the right.20e to 30e for two including drinks.nice owner.
good 4 day city trip, and cheap transport

No words to describe this hotel!...Really, I don' have particular needs and I'm not very demanding...but you can't consider the Lisboa Tejo an hotel !!

The location is great, really! It's right in the center!

The problems come when you enter into the hotel...the lobby is nothing special, but all in all it's ok...just 5 minutes for the check-in and then you got your key...wow! "Let's go in our room", you think....
mhmhmhmmhmhmhmmhmhm

Corridors are very dark, dust everywhere and strange blue lights...
All the structure is Old.
The room was terrible: restricted and DIRTY!
No air conditioning, nothing to close the windows hermetically...no plugs to charge a cell phone or a laptop...just ONE for the television... :-//

We booked 4 nights there but we stayed just few hours: in the middle of the night we decided to move to another hotel, a little bit cheaper but definitely better!!!!

Very helpful staff, excellent location. Rooms were nice and were clean and tidy. Pillows were a bit hard, but aside from that, it was a great stay.

My friend and I stayed at the Evidencia Lisboa Tejo Hotel for 5 nights. I could not have chosen a better hotel in terms of location! It is literally walking distance from everywhere you want to go to.The rooms are clean and basic - no bells and whistles, but with breakfast included, it was well priced. Breakfast is the same everyday, but great! All in all, a great stay!
