The casa dos bicos is obviously an unusual and singular building, and is therefore apt as a site of celebration of the work of Jose Saramago. I really enjoyed this museum, finding it both illuminating and moving. The basics are translated into English, but more might be done to further improve the accessibility of Saramago's work and message throughout this museum. For example, the videos shown on the top floor could perhaps be subtitled into other languages?

Our visit to the museum was great, the people very helpful and friendly, and a complete collection which was presented in a beautiful way. The collection is a nice introduction into saramago's work. A student ticket is only €2,-. Disadvantage is that not everything is translated into English, however, the most important facts are.
Certainly a tip for anyone who loves literature.
