This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at in many years of worldwide travelling. The rooms were very comfortable and large. Unlike most hotels, who try to create a restful atmosphere by having lighting so dim you can hardly see yourself in the mirror, this one has bright, modern and flexible lighting. The staff were extremely helpful and professional throughout and the team who ran the breakfast service were simply the best we have ever seen. The breakfast itself was of the highest quality and there was superb range.

It is located about 20 min walk from the main city centre and the Bairro Alto and this is the best way of getting around as the nearest metro station is more than 10 min away on foot. The overall cost of the stay including breakfast was good value but the pricing of drinks in the bar was clearly a disincentive as it was almost empty most of the time. Something for the management to perhaps consider? 0% customers x 300% margin = zero income.

Would definitely come back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the front of the hotel.

The plus:

Great brakefast served in the hotel's restaurant with an huge variety of options (breads, cakes, warm food, yougurts, waffles, cheeses, etc, etc). Although it was always packed, the food never ran out. The room is pretty good, specially the huge double bed, bathroom, coffee/tea machine, ironing, mini bar. Being the hotel full, we barely heard any noise. Great soundproof. The staff is very friendly, young and helpful. Wifi very strong (2nd floor, at least).

The less:

The pool area is tiny for 300+ rooms. It only has around 20 bedpools (8 with shadows), the room service is a bit expensive, the hotel decoration is not that fancy so is the sofa in the room and the mirror-like tv reflects all natural and artificial lights. The location can be painful due to its location uphill (coming from Marques de Pombal) but is very near to a shopping center.

Room Tip: The last floor rooms can be noisy because of the pool/bar. The wifi on the 2nd floor is flawless.

Just got back from a short holiday to Lisbon..
We chose the epic sana because we wanted a rooftop pool.
The hotel is simply stunning, the staff fantastic, the facilities excellent.

Yes it's a 20 min walk into the centre but you pass loads of bars & shops so not a problem.
Breakfast was as varied as you could wish for.
5 star, you bet!!!
We are already looking at our next visit.

By far exceeded my expectations! We arrived very early - check in-( no problem! Such helpful staff to show us to our room and explain all the mod cons.

Room has Bluetooth to play your own music, tv in mirror, electronic cutrtains, waterfall shower, safe and a really good hairdryer! Complimentary robes and slippers too!

Both pool areas are fab. Bit expensive at outdoor pool for drinks though!

Amazing, super, every person was nice and the breakfast was gorgeous (so says my 7 year old son). It was excellent with a room full of mod cons and a roof top pool and surrounds to die for. Very easy to find when driving into the city from the south, with its own underground car park albeit that a taxi or public transport will be needed to visit the city's sights. The staff were very welcoming for adults and kids alike and the rooms are impeccably clean.

Room Tip: 9th floor is the roof top bar level
