In Lisbon for 5 days we used TA to search restaurants close to our hotel near Marques de Pombal square. Coradinho is small but very popular. Staff are very welcoming and explain items on the menu. A daily menu is offered and plenty of choice a la carte. Everything freshly cooked and home made desserts, good wine choice too. Extremely reasonable price we went twice!

Found this restaurant on our second night and went back there every night thereafter. It's on a street that runs parallel to Ave de liberade nearer the top end - worth locating it before you go to Lisbon. It was fairly busy each night with both locals and tourists, food was lovely and very reasonably priced and drinks were very well priced as well. Lovely staff who spoke english very well.

We found this thanks to Trip Advisor. The restaurant itself does not look run down but the street it's in is a bit shabby - don't be put off! Our waitress was charming and helpful. We had squid and prawn kebabs which were very tasty and the squid not at all tough. Puddings were good too. Astonishingly, including a bottle of good white wine, our total bill (excluding service) was less that 30€! Plenty of locals eating here when we were there, which is a good sign. It's not a swanky romantic meal type place, but a relaxed, enjoyable and very good value place to eat.

We chose this restaurant because it was close to our hotel and was highly rated. Upon walking in, I was quickly regreting my decision because the place looks run down. But we decided to stick it out and we were so happy we did. The food was excellent. I had the grilled cod and it was very fresh and absolutely delicious. My friend had the pineapple pork chop and it was also amazing. The prices were so reasonable. We had two meals, shared dessert, a litre of house wine, and large water and the bill was only 25 EUR. This is definitely a hidden gem and local hang out. You know it's good when locals are there! I highly recommend this place to anyone.

We chose to eat here based on Trip Advisor reviews and because it was close to our accommodation. It was astoundingly good value. The service was friendly and accommodating - a very sweet young woman served us. She was patient and kind.
The place was packed with all sorts of people – locals and tourists. Just don’t expect fine dining - it was plain Portuguese cooking. No sauces or accompaniments of any kind. I found that quite a challenge as I did not expect the food to be so literal. However my partner enjoyed his grilled fish (bream) and fried potatoes very much. We can’t comment on meat dishes and there was nothing for veggies. Wines were so cheap as to be almost free and the cover charge for retro fish paste on bread was tiny.
Unpretentious no-nonsense stuff.
