Despite the wind and rain we enjoyed a late afternoon visit here. We had purchased a Lisboa card and entrance was included in the price. I think otherwise it was about 6 euros. The spiral stairs are very narrow but they have a one way system and timer in place so luckily you don't meet people coming the other way which is a really good idea!

A really beautiful building, well worth the visit. It can be seen by taxi, walking or the best way is hop on hop off tour bus, where you can take your time to explore and then hop on the next tour bus

Spectacular place. One of the most beautiful Portuguese monuments. Magical place when your imagination goes way back to the discovery times.

The Belém tour is, in my opinion, the mainly monument of the beautiful city of Lisbon. Building on the 16th century, originaly completely sorrounded by the water, the monument is a really expression of the portuguese sea discovers. You must see also the Jerónimos church (near the Belem tour, in the other side of the avenue) and the Pastéis de Belém, the best cake of Lisbon

Well it's a bit of a way out from the city but well worth it. The number 15 tram is a good way of getting there, either stop at the Monastery and its about a 600m walk or go to the next stop and cross the footbridge.
Good views from the battlements, not a lot to view unless you are into the Manueline architectural style.
