“Nice monument, Lisbon landmark, but windy and cold the day we visited”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

Its a mandatory visit in Lisbon. Smaller than I imagined. Couldn't visit inside because the tide was rising at the end of the afternoon and in fact some guys that were leaving got soaky wet at the access because of the waves. Very near the 'Padrão dos Descobrimentos', another landmark

“Lisbon must see”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

If you are going to go to the Monasterio san Jeronimo and the Torre de Belem you can buy a combined ticket for 10 euros which means that you can jump the queue at the 2nd site, so don't do what we did and stand in the queue at the Torre, when you already have your ticket you can just walk straight in. If you are scared of confined spaces I would not recommend climbing the tower as you have to climb several very narrow spiral staircases. There is only one set of stairs so they work a clever red and green light system allowing people to climb up and down, which works well as long as everyone abides by the lights. That said you don't have to climb the tower to enjoy the Torre de Belem you can stay on the lower level and still enjoy the views. Allow 30 to 45 mins to see this attraction.

“The pastries!”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

We thought we'd be prudent and just get three tarts for two people.

Yeah. Right.

We ended up splitting more like seven... and it wasn't easy to stop at that.

The area around is nice too. Absolutely worth the visit.

“Pretty, long line, worth the climb with Lisboa Card”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

I love a view, so since the Torre de Belem was included with the lisboa card, my friends and I opted to climb it. It's very lovely and picturesque, but there's not much too it. I wouldn't pay to climb it, but I very much enjoyed it.
