“Nice place, wouldn't go out of my way but the mosaic ground is lovely”

We were at the hotel opposite here so naturally went here.
It is the center of everything I feel.
We managed to see an advertising shoot for models.
Walk down from here to Praca Commercio is really nice as you get to see loads just shops, people, Baixa and etc
Hard Rock is across the road.
Gloria Funicular across on the other side.

Enjoyable if I was passing through.

I consider it the most beautiful public places in Lisbon, where the restaurants and the shops everywhere, bedsides underground station easy to get. There are is opened until evening. many thing around can be seen and visit. Very safe area. I got my dinner at one of the opened restaurants.

The square and the monument in the middle of it are to commemorate the restoration of Portuguese sovereignty over itself under its own king. It's less florid than many similar obelisks and to my mind, more successful for that.

The square leads off to many of the other attractions of Lisbon which are within a short walking distance, although the pedestrianised street full of restaurants parallel and one block over from Avenida Liberdade is best avoided - there are dozens of far better eateries nearby without falling into this tourist trap.

This square and monument is an essential part of a look around Lisbon and as it's so central, it can't be missed, which is to the good.
