“God in the small detail”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

Excellent hotel, conveniently placed, impeccably run. Very good breakfast. OK bed (not done thing in Portugal). But what make a real difference is the small details: rare quality toiletries, free port in the lobby, etc.

We have just returned from this fantastic hotel which deserves its top 10 spot on TA. We originally booked through a 3rd party agent who managed to be liquidated in September. The hotel were exceptional in dealing with this and upgraded us on arrival to a wonderful top floor room with views to die for.
The breakfast was great quality and choices of continental or cooked very much to our liking. The much mentioned tea bar and complementary Port and Moscatel wine were great after a busy day walking. The staff were personable, most helpful and efficient but in a relaxed way. It was one of the most comfortable hotels we have stayed in and in a beautiful European capital. We only used the little plunge pool once as we were so busy but it was a handy bonus. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to visit again. The location is so central for all modes of transport.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have fantastic views

We spent 3 nights at The Heritage earlier this week. Firstly it's easy to get to from the airport - just jump on the Metro and head for Restauradores. It's a 5 minute walk from there. The location couldn't be better; within a 15 walk of the tram 28 starting point, the Santa Justa elavador and both the Gloria and Lavra funiculars. Loads of places to eat nearby, from a whole street crammed full of local restaurants along Rua Portas de Santa Antao (runs adjacent to Av Liberdade so any side street takes you there) to the Hard Rock café which is even nearer than the metro stop! The hotel itself is wonderful ; It lives up to the boutique hotel tag and has plenty of character . The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was perfect (we were in #24 - no real street noise and a nice side road view up the hill). I really couldn't fault it and I can't think of a better hotel that I have stayed in for a Euro City break. we will definitely return.

Having stayed in other good hotels in Lisbon, we hoped the Heritage would be as good as the location - it was and more! From the friendly, professional staff to the well-appointed rooms the Heritage excels in every respect. Complimentary drinks and snacks reflect the wider ambience of a very welcoming environment. A superb location can sometimes 'inflate' the rating of a hotel; however, the four stars enjoyed by guests of this small establishment would be apparent regardless of where it was located. As it happens, the location on the Avenida' is superb. Easily a four stars hotel, the Heritage cannot be faulted. However, don't shout it too loudly and keep this marvellous secret to yourself .........!

Room Tip: Corner room allows a nice view down the 'Liberdade.

This was a great hotel for a long weekend. Really good service, and some nice touches like the free teas and Madeira in the stylish lounge/bar area. The room was really good, with a big grand bathroom. We didn't eat at all so can't comment on that.

Just got back from a lovely break in Lisbon and this Hotel helped a great deal with making myself and my Girlfriend enjoy it even more.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They were able to suggest some great restaurants that were able to cater for my girlfriend being a vegetarian and even got some veggie sausages and Soya milk in for her breakfast. Though I thoughy there was plenty of choice for breakfast even without this as plenty of coffee and tea, bread, meat, cheese, tarts and cereal.
Liked the layout as down stairs was about the right size for relaxing at breakfast or later in the evening. Tea and port were available in the evening if wanted, which was a nice touch. The rooms were large and clean, with a good shower and a great king size bed.
Location was perfect as we were able to walk to all the daytime and night time activities if we wanted and it was flat or downhill to get home.

Stayed here for four nights with a friend and really enjoyed our stay. Good sized rooms which had great decor and free wifi throughout the hotel. Nice touches such as free tea and home made lemon shortbread throughout the day and free port in the afternoon. Nice lounge area to relax too after a day pounding the cobbled streets and hills of lisbon. Mezzanine area has a library that includes DVDs that you can borrow to play in your room. Good breakfast and great coffee that you can help yourself to.staff were very courteous and professional. Small gym and spa area downstairs .bus to airport stops a couple of minutes away. Recommended.
