I can not say enough about this hotel. I had made an error with our booking. the staff at the front desk were about to sort it out and we were given a wonderfull room overlooking lisbon. I thank you for that

The pool was very refreshing after a day of walking in Lisboa

Our stay at the Heritage AV Liberdade was relaxing and comfortable. The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's in a great location on a tree-lined thoroughfare that is central to everything you probably want to see in Lisbon. The interior and bedrooms are where this hotel shines: stylish and modern decor in the public areas, large, attractive rooms with comfortable beds, and fully equipped baths (bathrooms and slippers for two, Molton Brown toiletries). The library (with a large stock of free-to-rent DVDs) and adjoining business center are also very nice.

The breakfast is better than we expected. Fresh fruit and juices, large selection of bread and pastries, yogurt/cheese/cold cuts, plus eggs & a couple of cooked meat options. The coffee was very good and they also have a DIY instant espresso machine.

The staff were (with one exception) very friendly and helpful. Don't forget to take advantage of their "welcome" glass of Port, which was served with tasty almonds and peanuts. You will probably have to ask for this if you get the unhelpful afternoon/evening attendant that was working when we checked in.

In terms of value: well, their everyday advertised rates aren't cheap. I wouldn't pay the advertised rate unless someone else was footing the bill, but we got a very nice rate through Orbitz via the "One of the Heritage Hotels in Lisbon" option. However, there's no guarantee you'll get the AV Liberdade with this deal, although all of their properties look very nice. Hotelclub also has frequent deals for this hotel if you wait until close to the last minute before booking.

Tip for vegetarians: we highly recommend the nearby Terra restaurant, which has an excellent veggie buffet. We ate there two nights out of four and it probably would have been three but they were closed one night!

This hotel is beautiful, has a great location and a very helpful staff. Walk two minutes to the tram that takes you in one minute to the Barrio Alto and Chiado, all very quaint and full of restaurants. Lisbon is very preety and definiitely worth visiting. Don't miss the Gubelkian Foundation museum and do take the trams, the best way to see the city.

We stayed at this property for three nights starting March 1st, 2010. Very centrally located hotel which is clean and has knowledgeable staff. We were given almost everything we asked for such as a electric kettle etc and even free water was sent up with that without asking. We checked out early in the morning and the gentleman at the front desk was kind enough to offer us a coffee at the restaurant while we waited for the cab. If there is one thing that can really make a difference, then it is the lighting in the passage of each floor. Too pretentiously low!

We loved this hotel! The décor was chic, the building lovely, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The hotel, located a block from the Hard Rock Café, is on a main street in Lisbon. Taxis line up outside the front.

The bedroom and bathroom were large with a very high ceiling. The windows were almost as high as the ceiling and, fortunately, had coverings that blocked most of the light. The bathroom had a deep tub with a detachable showerhead along with a separate shower. The hotel "library" had two computers with free Internet access and a DVD collection from which we could borrow freely. We watched the DVDs on the TV/DVD player in our room. We enjoyed swimming in the indoor pool. The staff offered us free tickets to a Michael Bolton concert one night. The finest touch was the complimentary green apples left by the staff on the desk in our room. If we return to Lisbon, we will definitely stay at this hotel again.

I loved this hotel, which is in the perfect location in downtown Lisboa! The staff was very friendly and helpful and you could tell that excellent customer service was really important to them all. My room was cheery and comfortable as well as totally quiet; great views too. Breakfast in the lobby was very relaxing and delicious. There is an inviting hot tub/pool and small fitness room. Their fabulous library on the mezzanine level with free internet access and comfortable reading chairs and books was great. What really put them over the top was their tea bar; open all day. They installed the original "1,000 drawers" wooden and inlaid cabinet from the historical Hermetica herbal shop. Guests are welcome to brew their own tea and get to choose from a wonderful array of white, green, herbal, and black teas. A real treat every day. Only downsides to hotel are that they do not have a restaurant, but there are many good ones within a block or two of hotel. They do have 24 hour room service; mostly sandwiches I think. Only one lift, so at times you may have to wait, but hotel is only 6 floors and walking up or down is an option.

From booking online to checking out I can't say enough about this hotel. Nothing was too much to ask. Every member of staff was helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, spacious and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Frankly, we didn't want to leave.
