This was our first trip to Lisbon and we were very impressed by this hotel. It was extremely comfortable and stylish and the service was excellent - friendly and professional. The breakfast was also terrific.

We stayed four nights and found everything we needed. The rooms are of a good size so there is plenty of space. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Friendly and generous with help as required. We found the room to be very quiet. There are large doors that can be opened which is nice during the day but at night with these closed no noise. Great sleep. I note they will even change your mattress if it is not to your liking. (Wonder how many take them up on that!) Breakfast is more than adequate. A large selection of cereals, bread,pastries, and fruit. The cooked breakfast range is a little limited but that was no concern to us. Seldom have the cooked breakfast. They do not have an evening restaurant but plenty within easy walking distance. They do have light meals for room service if you wish a snack and stay in. The location is perfect. An easy walk downtown. Highly recommend as a place to stay.
I just wanted to add to what,s already been said. There is a generous spirit here and it was great to return after a hard day,s sightseeing in Lisbon. Clean, well serviced rooms in an old -fashioned style... shower curtains! But the atmosphere and general kindness was second to none. Ruben is a treasure.
My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Avenida Liberdade in April. What a fabulous hotel. Centrally located so that you could walk everywhere or go by metro, the hotel is small, customer oriented and modern (although the outside is historic). We stayed on the fifth floor in a mammoth room with a great view of the neighborhood. Breakfast that was included in our rate was expansive and delicious, although it is served in the bar area with very low seats.
The fitness center was great for my husband who loves to work out. Add that to complimentary port, pastries and cookies 24/7 and you've got a winner. The concierges were great ( a special shout out to Reuben). Great recommendations on dinner in the area. All in all, a wonderful hotel that should really be upgraded to a 5 star rating.
We stayed 4 nights at the time of my husbands birthday. On his birthday we returned to our room to find a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine. (They’d checked his passport). It was a lovely touch but typical of the type of service that we received throughout our stay. The position allowed us to walk to all the main areas of the city although it is impossible to go anywhere in Lisbon without encountering steep hills.
We would not hesitate in recommending the Heritage Hotel.

As you say and it’s a fact, Lisbon is a hilly city! The best way to enjoy it, is to catch a public transport (e.g. funicular, bus, elevator) to the top of the hills and from there easily walk down, calmly enjoying the nice details of this beautiful city. For example, very near the hotel, there are 2 old funiculars - one of them (Gloria) takes you to Bairro Alto and on the other (Lavra) takes you to Santana hill.

We stayed at the Heritage for four nights at the end of April and would thoroughly recommend it. Our bedroom and bathroom were very comfortable and very clean. Despite being very near Avenida Liberdade it was not noisy and the location of the hotel was very convenient. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning and there was a good variety available. More than anything the staff - each and everyone- were so pleasant and helpful. Make sure to request restaurant recommendations, we did and ate very well as a result. The hotel will make reservations for you as well
