“Great apartment rental!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

This is a review for the Royal Apartment rental. The apartment is in a great location! And it is just as it is pictured. Luis and his employees were all so nice and very helpful. The apartment is huge and airy with lots of great light! You can see the water from the terrace, too. The wifi was very fast! The location is really good, we were able to walk everywhere quite easily. There is an excellent cafe (Cafe Brasileira) about a 2 minute walk away that was perfect for a morning coffee and pastry.
There is not an elevator, but one of Luis's employees helped us carry our luggage up to the apartment, so it was not a big deal (for us!). There was no wait, someone was there waiting for us at the apartment when we arrived and gave us a thorough tour of it.

We tried to book the Zuzabed B&B but they were full. So we stayed 4 nights in two Zuzabed Lisbon Suites on the Rua das Gaveas instead. I thought we got a great deal!

Each suite had the usual furniture and appliances, but there was also a kitchen that the hosts had stocked with fruits, ham, cheese, eggs, juice, bread and jam. There was even a coffee machine and a supply of capsules. With a washing machine and dishwasher, it was most homely. We were met on arrival by Jose who showed us that each suite had a cell phone with the hosts' contacts saved. We could call for information or advice, and we did. Jose recommended a few good restaurants and wine bars. He also booked us an honest taxi-driver to get us to the airport. The suite was located right in the popular Barrio Alto where most attractions are just a short walk away. The suites are serviced every other day. It would have been nice if detergent for the washing machine could have been provided. Otherwise, it is easy to see why Zuzabed is so highly rated.

We stayed in the B&B Zuzabed for three nights at the end of our two week honeymoon to Portugal. It was the perfect ending to our trip. The location is perfect for walking the city and for taking the tram or metro to any place in the city. The views were spectacular and the breakfasts a great start to each day.

Our hosts Luis and Jose were so helpful and even give their guests a cell phone for service when they are away from the bed and breakfast! This came in handy several times. They suggested some great restaurants and even showed us the town one night from a local's perspective. We had an amazing time in Lisbon mostly in part to the suggestions and company of the Zuzabed personnel.

What great memories!

We've stayed at many B&B's in many countries, and what makes ZUZA a standout is the personal attention and outstanding hospitality offered by this great team of guys Luis, Jose & Joao. You couldn't ask for better guides to ensure that you have an exceptional visit in their town!
The B&B and a sister property are located around the corner from each other. The hotel (sorry not sure what it's really called) has a lovely tiled salon and is really homey. I understand that with the exception of one room, they have shared bath. We were in the B&B located above a restaurant that had all it's seating on the wide cobblestone pedestrian street. It was fun to duck in behind a table thru a doorway (just like a local). Then climb several steep narrow flights of steps to reach our room. It was small, but perfectly functional, including the private bath. It had a large operational window that afforded us a spectacular view of the castle!
Breakfast was served in sunny lounge room each day and was quite tasty with a variety of pastries, meats & cheeses, really great buns, yogurt parfaits, juice and coffee/tea. We enjoyed the easy rapport with our fellow travelers,- and as well as one member of the ZUZA team who was ready to assist us with an itinerary/suggestions for the day. We had a lovely relaxed stay here and can't wait to return! Thanks ZUZABED!

We just returned after staying for five nights at the Zuza Guest House. Since we were a family of four, we stayed in the Cozy suite. The suite is a doll like studio apartment, which is small but was adequate for our needs. The bed was super comfortable and the apartment had wi-fi. The apartment is on the ground floor and is well situated for visiting the city. But as other reviewers have said, the hall mark of this place, is the warmth and hospitality extended by Luis and his team. They are so fantastic and nothing or no demand was considered an imposition! From tips on sightseeing, to entertaining my 3 year old, to stocking up my fridge with some breakfast essentials because we had a 6 am flight the next morning, they thought of and helped with EVERYTHING.They made us feel so special, that I wish I could give them 10 stars for their service and the love. With all my heart, I would just like to thank them for making travelers like us feel so welcome. Thank you Luis and team!

Room Tip: 1.The cozy suite is on the ground floor. So people who dont want to climb stairs could choose this su...

My wife & I stayed for 4 nights at Zuzabed & can only echo all the other reviewers comments. Ideally situated for a short city stay our Vintage room was small but perfectly adequate with good views. What makes Zazabed so special (and different) is the hospitality offered by Luis, Jose & Joao & their tips & advice. We have been taking European city breaks to celebrate our wedding anniversary for many years now & try to find characterful accomodation this was certainly up with the best experiences we have had.

Together with a friend I stayed for 4 nights in a Terrace room at Zuzabed B&B. What a lovely place to be. Everything was perfect. Located in the heart of the city, the room with the view, a breakfast so lovely, and last but not least the hospitality and care of Luis and his team. They make you feel special and at home. If you want to visit Lisbon don't search for other accommodation, just book Zuzabed! You will not regret it.
