We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. It's located in the vibrant Bairro Alto neighborhood, near a concentration of restaurants and nightlife, but far enough away that there's no noise or crowd problems. It's an easy walk to two main commercial streets, but is itself located on a quiet but safe side street.
As for the hotel itself, the rooms are small and not fancy, but perfectly clean and comfortable. Our room, #29, had a smallish full bed that was very well made (snug as a bug in a rug!), a small table and chair, a nightstand, and an armoire for hanging clothes. The shower and sink were also located in the room. The room has a tiny foot-deep balcony and big French doors, not big enough to spend time on, but a nice plus nonetheless. There's a view of the wall surrounding the Castelo that overlooks Lisbon.
Some rooms have toilets in the room as well, but the one room like this that we saw had the toilet in a small bathroom right in front of the window, which kind of wrecked the window's appeal. Since the two bathrooms in the hallways are so clean, large, well-lit, and comparatively un-busy, I'd recommend requesting a room with the sink and shower , plus a street view, but minus the toilet. The rooms that don't have the street view overlook the trash and an alley, so they're to be avoided if possible.
The staff speaks some English, and is very friendly.
We paid 30 euros/night for our room, plus we got a small discount because we stayed for a whole week.
We had no regrets about the place, and really loved it. Check it out!
