We had wonderful 5 days staying at lovely Casa de Bica over New Year. The owner, Paulo, was extraordinary friendly and gave us great advices and information about the area. The location was quite (even at New Year's Eve) and close to downtown as well as to the Train & Metro station (Cais do Sodre, 10 minutes walk) for traveling to Belem. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby.
The apartment itself was tastefully furnished and has everything you need, even for cooking, and Wifi.
We certainly recommend Casa Bica and would be very happy to stay there again in Lisbon.
The apartment is on three levels, a loft bedroom with a quirky stair/ladder, a kitchen/dining/living level, and a downstairs bedroom where the bathroom is located. So if you have mobility issues this would not be a good choice for you. It was very well equipped and pleasant. There was quite a bit of street noise which made it difficult to have the windows open at night.
My friend booked this apartment for us and what a great choice she made.
Such a beautiful apartment that has everything it really was a home away from home.
Great quiet location close to metro pubs shops restaurants.
Would return in the future if visiting Lisbon again.
We had a lovely time staying at Casa de Bica, it was the perfect place to stay and see the best of beautiful Lisbon. The owner, Paulo, was very friendly and welcoming and gave us useful advice and information about the area. It was close to the city’s sites and you can either walk along the river to the centre or meander through the streets. It was also close to the Cais do Sodre station that takes you to Belem or down the coast to the beaches of Estoril or Cascais.
The apartment itself has everything you need for a relaxing stay and was beautifully decorated, our 14 year old daughter loved the bedroom on the mezzanine level, as well as the access to the wi-fi. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby; we would recommend Santa Bica restaurant round the corner on the Travessa do Cabral. The Blue House traveller’s store on Rua da Bica de Duarte Belo was also very friendly and helpful with luggage drops and taxi’s to the airport.
Just arrived back from a wonderful holiday in Lisbon made even better by our stay at the lovely Casa da Bica . This house has everything to make your holiday special. It is also in the perfect spot to see all that Lisbon has to offer. The owner Paulo will meet you at the house and give you lots of information to help make your holiday. He is so friendly. Will definitely stay there again when we return to Lisbon .
We had a relaxing five night stay in Paulo's lovely house. It is perfectly located in a pretty area of Bica and within walking dustance to all main attractions. There is a wide range of cafes and restaurants in the locality, almost too much choice! Paulo was a great host, very helpful with information before our stay and available also when we asked for fresh towels during the holiday. Nothing was a problem.
The house is very interesting, on two different street levels. It is tastefully furnished and very comfortable. I loved the french windows opening up onto the square opposite, which gave great light and feeling of space. There is a loft room overhanging the living space, with quite challenging steps and the second bedroom is down a spiral staircase. The bathroom is in this room. The kitchen was fully equipped, even tea/coffee, and all the basics provided. There is a coffee machine with capsules provided also which was a bonus. Paulo even left us some mouthwatering Portuguese custard pies...to die for!!!
I will certainly be recommending Casa Bica to my friends and would be very happy to stay there again if visiting Lisbon.
