I walked in and a staff member at the counter watched me walk in and as it was open plan I walked into one of the rooms and started looking around. The only other people there were a tour group. After about an hour I was walking up to the second floor and the same staff member yelled from downstairs that I couldn't go up there. As I had seen most of it i went to leave and he asked for my ticket. I said I didn't know I had to pay so went to pay but then he said don't worry about it. So I left.

It was cool seeing the old computers, telegraph machines and the radio station and TV studio. My experience was just let down by an unclear ticket area. I would say if you want people to buy tickets then warden it off or tell people when they arrive. The money museum i went to the previous day was free so it's hard to know!

This museum contains a lot of communication equipment however there are some interesting parts to it in additional to the technical aspects. There are old carriages and scenes from centuries past. One section has a replica of a railroad car with a post office inside. It's worth a visit if you're ever in Lisbon.

I checked online on their website the opening times and went there only to slam my face in the door as it was closed for the month for renovations. How they think it's acceptable not to put that vital information on their website is beyond me. And for a museum centered on communication! Poor show.

Very interesting exhibition of the history of communication. Plenty of things to try out with kids, eg. tv-studio or post office work.
