“Very poor service throughout”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

Was recommended by local restaurant.
Was pointed to our table, 10 minutes later starters arrived that we're not chosen, no coats taken or seats shown to.
After 10 more minutes we had to ask for our drinks,
Lamb chops turned up undercooked,
Never asked how we where or if we required any more drinks, left alone all evening,if we did not ask for it we did not get it.
And when we did we seemed to be forgotten about for around 10 minutes.
We have a rental villa here in Obidos and have eaten in many a restaurant and have never had service this bad over past 7 years,
We were very upset and were made to feel unwelcome and ignored.
We love Portugal and the Portugues and we are upset to have to write this bad review.
Food was satisfactory but service needs major attention or was it because we where English?

“Great desserts”
Reviewed 19 October 2013 via mobile

I came across this restaurant for a business lunch. Place is quite antique and nicely decorated. Looking at people around us, it's clearly a restaurant for locals, with not a tourist on sight. A few too many tables, making it a bit too overcrowded. There wasn't a menu as such, just one option of fish and one of meat. I suppose this may make the visit a bit more laborious if you can't speak portuguese. I had the meat, bife de lomo, which was very rich and nicely served with rice and a tropical fruit salad. Great idea to have fruits with meat, which is very typical in South American dishes. The high point was the desert. Many options. I went for a fantastic mousse of condensed milk and almonds. A few points to improve but still worth a visit.

“Authentic, friendly and delicious”
Reviewed 9 July 2013 via mobile

This place is in a small town off obidos but so worth the drive. Quaint old restored house turned into a well serviced resto. Food is delicious, fresh and the owners are very knowledgeable and helpful. Fridays nites they have live music.

“Charming authentic Portuguese restaurant”
Reviewed 15 June 2013

Poco dos Sabores is a charming and quirky Portuguese restaurant in the village of Usseira which is in the hills overlooking the historic town of Obidos. The restaurant, originally an ancient farm building, has stone walls and still has its original well inside. The two owners of the restaurant are Joachim and his sister Angela. Joachim runs the restaurant whilst Angela presides over the kitchen. Their cuisine is at its best in the dishes that are typical of the region - the black pork is always cooked to perfection and served with "migas" a traditional side dish of breadcrumbs, beans, cabbage and seasoning. I have also eaten there the most perfectly cooked octopus that I have ever had. Joachim's knowledge of Portuguese wines is extensive and he serves some excellent (and value for money) wines. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming (but do try to book ahead as they are always busy). A visit is well worthwhile (and you may even be able to join my campaign to get the dessert chef - Fatima - to put back on the menu her famous "Pudim Flan" !)

“The most authentic Portuguese restaurant in the area!”
Reviewed 30 August 2012

After spending a week in the region of Obidos, we were happy to enjoy our last meal of our vacation here. Poco dos Sabores has a great vibe to it thanks to its quirky decorations, friendly staff and excellent food. Their menu boasted a list of Portuguese dishes that were nowhere to be seen anywhere else in that area of Portugal and that was exactly what we were looking for! Definitely worth a visit!
