Owner description: Praia D'El Rey is arguably one of the most stunning golf courses in Europe. It's set among extensive pine forests and undulating dunes, with spectacular views over the Atlantic and the Berlengas Islands beyond. The 18-hole golf course was designed by the renowned American golf architect Cabell B.Robinson and was inaugurated on 14th June 1997. Deep bunkers, sloping greens and sandy dunes contrast sharply with the lush fairways, making it the complete golfing challenge.Praia D'El Rey is rated amongst the top golf courses in Europe by Golf World Magazine and is one of Portugal's major golfing destinations for both private and sponsored events. The course is a mixture of seaside links and parkland holes with a par of 73, offering the golfer a unique experience. Players are required to have a valid golf handicap certificate. Minimum handicap requirements are men 36, ladies 36.Enjoy your game!

Ranked in top 10 in portugal, which actually does not say much for the quality of golf in Portugal. It is a little strange to play parkland grass on links course. I enjoy playing the course but the clubhouse is a rip off. Very poor attitude towards juniors- outrageous price for junior green fee and this is not a busy course in afternoons!!Like the hotel it offers 'resort' prices but quality of food is awful.Just about worth $75 and the competition from Royal Obidos will bring the price down further.

About 6200 yards off the yellow tees this is a very enjoyable course to play. It is in good condition and suitable for ll standards of golfers. It can be walked comfortably but a buggy would be a good idea on a very hot day. Quite expenssive for a buggy at 42 euros! Water is really only a feature on the 8th and 10th holes.
Clubhouse facilities are very good and a cool beer on the terrace overlooking the 10th tee and fairway is recommende when you finish your round.

Played twice and started at the 1st hole. Unfortunately by the time we got to the 10th, there was a huge queue (this is also a start point) and we were held up quite substantially on both occasions. Enjoyed the course though.

These golf course is my favourite - atlantic views for almost 3/4 of the course. It provides all year around golf because of its proximity to the atlantic so that is a major plus. The people are friendly and clubhouse food is above average for a golf clubhouse. Would recommend the seafood chowder as a snack. However, they have a captive audience so prices are high. The actual restaurant itself, is overlooking the 10th tee box but is usually empty because of price. It would be lovely to see the prices being reduced to reflect the difficult times and the stunningly located restaurant could be become less like a museum. Great for a snack after a game of golf, but such a pity that the restaurant itself is largely out of reach of the average person because of price.
