If you are in Sintra at lunchtime, and want more than a sandwich, but don't want to pay tourist prices then try this place. A little away from the main centre, but a pleasant shady walk from the Palace round past Parque de Liberdade, to manel's, tucked away beside the Camara building, which is worth a look.
Daily set lunch is €7.00 and is basic, but well prepared, and consists of bread, olives, soup a choice of daily mains, a drink and coffee. Dessert is extra. The grilled chicken was average ,a bit dry, but a good waiter and hot food made it a great value experience. Compare to the same total price for a slice of cake at Cafe Paris in the centre!
