Better food than i expected and the prices were not bad either. The service was nice, though we went there very early for dinner one evening and there were only one more table filled with guests.

Had lunch here with the family. The food was very poor. We ordered a typical Portuguese dish "pataniacas" and they were soaked in oil... My wife ordered the back pork grill and only got the fat parts. In short the food is just not good.

expectations pretty low when family decided to go into res. alcobaca - interior fake stonewalls and plastic roof - they have definately not used the decorative potential of the place ( to say the least ). Appetizer was 4 pcs of very good bread for 5 persons ?!? together with some olives ( GOOD olives ! ) and some cheese ( GOOD cheese ! ). Appetizer was actually quite good although priced too high ( 4-5 euros for olives, cheese and 4 pcs of bread that would have been free most other places ). Main dishes arrives swiftly and MAN, they were good !! Perfect pork slices - very good carbonara - perfect steak of the day - good lasagne ( a little too much cheese ). All in all = safe bet for a little "gem of the day" experience.

I had been craving paella and this place featured it, which is what drew me in. The location is great, up one of the small streets in the center of Sintra. The decor is tacky. It looks like a plastic cave. Don't be put off. The service was good as was the paella. The bathrooms are down a very steep flight of stairs. The lights in the bathrooms are motion activated, except the sensors don't see you when you're in the stall. If you're not quick, it can be a bit of an adventure. Fortunately, I had a flashlight app on my iPhone.

The food had a nice flavour but was really overpriced. The starters were expensive and my main course didn't include a side. The amount of food was also not inline with the price. The staff was friendly but didn't miss the chance to lure us into a dish that was clearly a rip off. The place is in a good location but it is clearly designed for turists. Budget travellers should avoid it.
