This is an amazing hotel. The gardens around it are stunning and the building is really beautiful. The rooms though are a little small though and if you are on business, there is no decent desk the room to work on. I ended up having to use the ironing board as a desk. The number of TV channels is limited and the Internet access is slow. Though if your here at this hotel, chances are your on a honnymoon or romantic holiday as this is what it is really catering to and you would not be watching TV or surfing the Internet. The water is full of chlorine, even in the shower you can really smell it. The room had a free 1lt bottle of water and a bottle of Porto as well. The breakfast is very good and has a great variety of things to choose from. The dining room is really grand and elegant. The staff are reasonably friendly though it would be nice if one of them at least smiled. All in all, I wish I was here not on business but with my wife as it seems like a really romantic place. I highly recommend this place to couples looking for a really quiet and romantic getaway.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for sharing with us your experience of staying at the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais.
We were glad to know that you liked our rooms, decorated with magnificent paintings, tapestries and frescos of rare beauty. We are also very pleased that you enjoyed our Hotel and surrounding gardens, a former XVIII Century Palace, totally refurbished in 2008, located on the hills of Sintra, UNESCO World Heritage town.
We were happy to hear that you liked the Seteais Restaurant menu, service and breakfast, which can be enjoyed in a romantic and stylish atmosphere.
I will pass on to our team, your satisfaction with the service, with the assurance that it will help to maintain the motivation and commitment of all who are part of the Hotel Staff.
We look forward to welcoming you back on your next stay in Sintra.
Kind regards,
Pedro Frazão

This hotel is gorgeous but unfortunately the staff did not deliver. I was very disappointed with the service given the caliber of the hotel as well as the cost.

My husband and I loved, loved, loved this hotel. We've stayed at 5 star resort around the world and this is easily in our top 3. The hotel and grounds are simply stunning with beautiful furnishings, and tons of fresh flowers. Also, the beds are fantastic...lots of down (I believe they have feather beds). One evening after they gave us a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine, we walked around the grounds, wine in hand, and looked at the amazing views. We then headed into one salons (which we had by ourselves) and just reflected on how pretty of a place we were staying at. It was such a memorable experience. We were here for 3 nights and we can say that Sintra and this hotel was a highlight of our Portugal trip. PS: we stayed at the end of March, and one of the nights I think there was only a few guests in the hotel. It was very sleepy which we didn't mind, but don't go looking for lots of party action. This is a romantic and sophisticated hotel.

One should feel like a prince or princess in this hotel. The service is fantastic, with all the staff being friendly, attentive and always there to help. The rooms are fantastic, with dream like beds, flat tv, nespresso and a very beautiful and praticable bathroom.
I love the hotel, all the great rooms, the well decorated corridors and the gardens. The pool was closed for the winter. The bar had a good service. The location is soberb. Just a 5 minutes walk from Sintra and even near the Quinta da Regaleira, a must see in this pretty little Portuguese village.
5 star indeed. With a crown also.

We stayed at the Ritz Four Seasons in Lisbon for several nights. We are so glad we decided to stay in Sintra for a couple of days. This is the most beautiful hotel or one of the most hotels I have seen. It has a limited number of rooms so you feel like you are the only guests. The dining room and staff was amazing and breakfast was super. The bathroom was very modern and you could tell the rest of the hotel was newly rennovated.
