This is an excellent little hotel in one of southern Europe's most magical towns. The fittings have a funky, mid-century feel that adds a dash to things. From our arrival to departure everyone was more than helpful, and standards high. Breakfast is varied, plentiful, and tasty, while the downstairs garage is a great bonus in Sintra's narrow streets. Just remember that the narrow streets were there long before you chose your rental car, so select something small.
The hotel's nearest neighbour is the Sintra National Palace, but the main draw is the view. From our room we could see in a 200 degree-plus sweep from the moorish castle atop its towering hill, over the winding streets, all the way to the shimmering Atlantic 5 miles across the valley. Captivating.
