We were recommended to stay here and found the location superb for sight-seeing in this gem of a place. There was secure hotel parking available for independent travellers such as ourselves and we had a good welcome from the staff at reception.
Unfortunately the hotel looks dated and the bedrooms/bathrooms are in need of up-grading. Externally the building does not fit in with the architectural ambience of Sintra - how did the planners allow it? We only had breakfast at the hotel, the selection was adequate but the cooked food was poor and the young staff needed a shake up. Having said all of this I would recommend it alone for its position. There are plenty of eating choices near at hand and many of the sights are within walking distance. For those sights that are not, the bus stop is just around the corner.More
