This Hotel had a great location and views overlooking the National Palace. Is has been completely renovated, recently. And a very new hotel, maybe 1 and half years old. It was an old residence. I AM VERY picky, where I stay (sort of a hotel snob you could say) and this place passes with flying colours. Love the mix of Old and modern. The location is excellent as you are right in the old town and close to everything. The service was excellent. Breakfast was great (As much as I enjoy espressos. It was nice to have a regular Canadian coffee). Freshly squeezed orange juice. Fresh Buns, cheeses and deli meats, fruits and pastries. Just right. We also experienced a dinner there that was excellent. 2 Thumbs up from my kids, who are foodies. Our room was right across from the outdoor patio on our floor. Loved the beds and linens. I booked 3 rooms for 3 nights....This was an excellent value. We will be back with more time.

Room Tip: I like the second floor best. And will ask for room 206 as it is across from the loggia which makes...

Hotel is in an excellent position with views overlooking the National Palace.
Welcome was very friendly and efficient.
The hotel also provided a lovely birthday cake surprise for my husband, who was celebrating his 50th birthday.
We only stayed 1 night and we should have stayed for 2, as there are a lot of sights to see in and around Sintra.
Both of our rooms were lovely, we had rooms with a window seat looking out towards to Palace and a couple of local restaurants, but without any noise at night. Perfect. I also liked the fact that rooms had different plaques outside the doors relating to Sintra and surrounding area. Novel door access too.
Breakfast was good, not as varied as some places we have stayed but all good quality. We enjoyed the Sintra speciality cheesecakes - good to be able to try these and the freshly squeezed (as we sat down for breakfast) orange juice.
Staff at the hotel were very helpful and ordered us a taxi in the morning chaos to get to Pena Palace. They had also provided very good instructions for how to get the bus to Pena but we got up later than we had planned and the queue was too long.
We would definitely stay here again if in Sintra

This is DEFINITELY a 4-star hotel, and the location to everything in Sintra can't be beat. The staff, all of whom speak fluent English, bend over backwards to be of friendly service; the rooms are spacious, and the breakfasts (included) are over the top. The kitchen is state-of-the-art and they serve high-quality meats, fresh fruit, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and pastries backed on the premises that are divine - enough so to get the most devoted dieter to fall off the wagon. Our rooms had window seats and fully open-able windows to relax and admire the view to the valley beyond. For smokers, there are also lovely covered logias on each floor ((there's an elevator). These look into a lovely courtyard with a high rock wall supporting flowering plants. The furniture is modern, very high quality. The only comment that isn't a rave revue (but didn't impact our stay there) is the decor in the restaurant, which is overly lighted and "cold." That didn't matter for breakfast, and it's a lovely place to eat then. If you stay here, even if the prices are a "splurge," you won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the front.

We stayed in a deluxe room for two nights. The room was quite large by European standards, with a large bathroom. No complaints--the room was simple, but clean, and we were lucky enough to have a great view. The hotel is well located, a block from the National Palace and near the bus to the train station and Pena Palace. The complementary breakfast was adequate, and the server was helpful. The first day, she brought us food, but no choices and the second day was buffet. Not sure why. My biggest complaint is the front desk staff. We were given incorrect directions from the airport by email before arrival. When I brought this to their attention, it did not seem to be a big deal to them. Also, do not buy "tickets" to Pena, the National Palace, or the Moorish Castle from them. We were told that it would be the same price and we would not have to wait in line. We found out later that they were vouchers, and we did have to wait in line to redeem them. We had to pay in cash, and then were charged again on our bill. They credited us no problem, but irritating nonetheless. Also, we were not informed that had we waited to purchase tickets, we could have saved money on a combination ticket. Finally, most nights there was only a woman who had only been working at the hotel two months and a trainee at the front desk, neither of them very helpful. We would stay here again for the clean rooms and the location, but do your homework first.
Oh, and we found a great little market a few blocks from the train station on the pedestrian mall past the banks and restaurants. It's on the right side walking down the hill, towards the end of the mall, fruit and veges outside. The son speaks perfect English--great artisinal cheese, two euro wine, fruit--I wish I could remember the name...

I spent 2 nights at this hotel and I was very satisfied. The room was spacious, clean and bright. Bathroom was big and clean. The staff was extremelly helpful and quick to respond to all my enquiries. Hotel is centrally located. All buses to the castles stop next to the hotel. The only thing which needs to improved is a breakfast. The selection of food is limited. Otherwise, I enjoyed staying at this hotel. I will definetely come back next time.

We spent two nights at this hotel and were very pleased. The rooms were nice, quiet, and spotless. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, and the breakfast varied and good. We took the train to Sintra. You dont need a car there nor would I want one. The only reason we wished we had had a car was to go to Cabo de Roca..

We recently attended a wedding in Sintra & were recommended to the SIntra Boutique Hotel by friends & decided to make it a long weekend. The hotel is easy to find and despite being warned of limited parking, we were able to find the hotel easily & park outside every day of our stay. Upon arrival (4 hours before the official check in time) we asked if we could leave our bags and explore the area but were told we could already access our room as it was ready early. The room was immaculately clean and tidy, fresh and airy, with a huge comfortable twin/double bed and pillow menu. The view from the room across to the town centre and valley were stunning although I dont think we would have been comfortable having the windows open had the children been with us as they were very low indeed.
Breakfast was excellent with a fantastic variety of fresh food, fruit, pastries, nice coffee etc, although the one evening we ate in the restaurant the meal was considerably below what I expected considering what the menu offering was... I think this was most likely due to the fact that we were in a large group (12) and they were used to serving couples.
In hindsight I would have gone to the restaurant/bar across the street in the square which was brilliant (we had eaten there at lunch time). In the evening they could tell we wanted to stay and invited us onto the roof terrace which had not formally been opened to the public as they were just finishing work on it & it was excellent... beautiful views, reasonable prices & lovely evening sunshine with great service. Its also worth noting that in Sintra we were told its not customary to leave a tip although we did as we were very happy.
The hotel service was great & they went above and beyond their roles by booking tickets for the segway tours etc on our behalf, arranging taxis etc & I have nothing but praise for their helpfulness & can-do attitudes. The only improvements would be in the restaurant in the evenings & maybe the presence of a better bar/relaxtion area...
Thank you very much!
