“Fabulous beach in Sintra coast”
Reviewed 27 March 2014

Far and hidden this little beach sits at the end of a long road next to almost nothing, except for a small fish and sea food restaurant.
During the summer it´s the only beach in Sintra where you can find a place to lie down without stepping on someone else´s towel. The scenery is fantastic with carved caves and steep cliffs.
Water is cold and the sun only appears after 10pm but otherwise is worth the visit and the stay

“Stunning beach”
Reviewed 27 August 2013 via mobile

This is a beautiful place. The beach is secluded and has clean, fine sand. The water, of course, is very cold for swimming unless you have a wet suit. There were a few surfers when we visited in late August and a few fishermen casting their lines from the rocks. When the tide is low you can walk to Praia Grande but be careful you don't get cut off by the tide on the way back! Overall, a much better choice than the beaches in Estoril and Cascais. Free parking at the bottom of the road is limited but there is a privately owned car park site right next to it charging 2.50 per day. There is a small restaurant that has had good reviews from travellers, though we didn't visit it.

Beautiful beach with cooling wind and crashing waves. Very reasonable price for 'tent' and deckchairs.

This is the best beach i have every been to. Just amazing. The experience is full. Sand and ocean really made nature wonderful. And the pictures you can goolge are real.

This beauty is very hard to reach by public transportation, but, believe me, it is possible. You take a train from Rossio station in Lisbon to Sintra (return ticket is 4.5 euro and it i uploaded on ViaGen card for transport). Train leaves every 20 minutes. Ride is 35-40 minutes. Just in front of Sintra train station, there is a bus terminal. Catch the bus No 403. It goes once per hour. You exit at small place called Almoçegem. Ticket price is 4 euro per person one way.The beach is a 30 minute walk down from Almoçegem. We hithhike on our way back and a couple picked us up to the village. (you can take the same bus from Cascais)
