Excellent Quinta which is fun to explore. There is a diversity of plants and vegetations, a few tunnels that connect different places around the Quinta which is really fun and makes you interact with other visitors.

One man's crazy dream complete with underground tunnels leading to an esoterically designed underground turret, beautiful gardens and a picturesque, if expensive restaurant.a beautiful day out(and in). Only thing to mention is that the house itself is mostly filled with an exhibition and has the upper floor windows boarded up. We would have loved to see those windows opened. Also, tantalisingly, from the highest turret roof terrace of the house you can see a fully equipped alchemist's laboratory(cue mad scientist like images!) but you can not actually go inside it. This place is unique.

Came here because of Number 2. (http://imgur.com/gallery/qtIIW). I have no regrets. The place was like Alice in Wonderland - Disneyland Haunted Mansion - with a view! Bring a flashlight if you can or use your phone. That's all I will say. There's guided tours but I walked it myself. Great view of the city. Very green and very hilly.

There's so many places to check out in Sintra it can be hard to decide how to prioritize, especially on the standard day tip. Quinta Da Regaleira was our last stop of the day and although we were low on energy, I'm very glad we went. The house is smaller than the palaces of Sintra and Pena, and the garden is nothing like the vast estate at Pena but there's tons to explore. I think kids especially would delight in the gardens (more so than the house itself) with the myriad of underground passageways, grottoes, nooks and crannies and tunnels. Super fun!

The park of Quinta Da Regaleira proved to be much less than what I had expected reading all the praises of it. The park itself was much smaller and slightly more artificial and less enigmatic than I imagined. It is definitely a fun place for kids and may be even for teenagers, but I would say that if there is a shortage of time, there is no question about which park to chose - Pena's park is much more pleasant and interesting from my point of view than that of Regaleira. So, it is a good attraction but definitely second to Pena Park (for me), unless you are a child.
