Apartment spotlessly clean and comfortable; very well equipped inside and on the airy terrace which is secluded and peaceful, with lovely views. The apartment remains cool even in high temps outside. Karin, the owner, was very helpful and informative - a friendly host. She met us from the station and drove us on a wee tour of Sintra and then to the supermarket for us to shop for provisions for our fortnight holiday. The station is about a ten minute walk from the apartment with frequent trains to Lisbon. Local bus services to the coast and the Sintra tourist buses also leave from the station. The walk from the apartment to the station takes you along a quiet, tree lined terrace which provides a magnificent view of the National Palace and it's white kitchen chimneys! It's a twenty minute walk up hill to the palace and Sintra's historic Centre. Just below the apartment is the rail track for the 1930s tram that takes you on a glorious 50min open carriage ride to the coast and beach resort of Praia da Macas. Sintra has lots of sights to see and views you will not tire of photographing. Being based in Sintra gave us the opportunity to visit the Moorish Cadtle and Pena Palace and Monserrate Palace and magnificent gardens ...Sintra is a very special place and Karin's hospitality has made thus holiday house, a home away from home! Oh ...there are a couple of low doorways, into the kitchen and bathroom, so maybe too low for 6 foot six people! Photos of the property are completely accurate.
