We always visit this little gem of a local restaurant when returning to Funchal. The staff are warm and welcoming. The chicken peri peri is superb along with a tomato and onion salad served with the best French fries covered in garlic & herds....divine, my mouth is watering just thinking about it! A busy little, informal restaurant that has locals mixing easily with tourists. We can't recommend this place for a chilled lunch or evening meal.

Food was basic very salty. Chips was nice as it had lots of garlic. Espetada beef was very salty and the chicken was but was decent food.

This restaurant served the best piri-piri chicken that we've eaten in Portugal. Really nice portion of chicken, very tasty garlic & oregano fries (mind the garlic breath the next day!), and at reasonable prices. Downstairs specialises in fish, upstairs for meat.

We enjoyed our meals here very much, and service was excellent too. Highly recommended.

Second visit here and still as good. Menu is wide and varied. Good meat as well as local fish. Friendly helpful staff. Menu in English. Good wine selection. Prompt service. Large portions. Deserts are wonderful.
