On Saturday nights the restaurant provides entertainment with traditional Madeiran dancing on the terrace overlooking the bay. The setting is very nice but the food and service were poor. Soggy chips and tasteless veg were served with total disinterest by the staff. When it arrived the bill was wrong but there were no apologies or explanation. Not a restaurant we would rush back to.

Tried this place because it looked good and in an great setting. Although the food was good the staff and their atitude was very poor. No smiles, once we had our wine was expected to refill our glasses which I don't expect. Had to ask for coffee to be served twice. Wouldn't recomment this place simply because ot the staff's atitude. The view from the restaurant is great and cannot be matched, also went to the Chalet Vicente on the opposite of the road where the attention to detail by the staff was superb. As soon as you entered the place the receptionist attended to you, The waiters were friendly and had smiles. The menu for both food and wine was very extensive. Great place to try.

We chose to eat here mainly based on the lovely sea views from the open air terrace.
My wife had the scabbard fish, whilst I chose the pork fillet. Both came with potatoes and vegetables. Our meals were fine, particularly the fish which was served as a boneless fillet, unlike a more expensive restaurant earlier in the week.
The desserts appeared generous and a fellow diner commented that there was a generous amount of liquer in her ice cream sundae.
A pleasant restaurant with a great view.

The entrance to the Paradise Restaurant is quite understated, there's a blue canopy over steps leading down to the restaurant which has a fantastic view over the ocean, we were stunned as we approached and decided immediately that we wanted to eat there.

We were so lucky, there were a few groups waiting to be seated but a prime table for two overlooking the ocean that had been reserved suddenly became free, we were in the right place at the right time. The food didn't disappoint, we had a starter each and we both tried the fillet steak in mushroom sauce. The steak was absolutely beautiful my knife slid through it like a hot knife through butter, the sauce was delcious and the whole meal a delight.

It was our last night otherwise we would certainly of gone there again, I would reommend that you book and make sure you get a table overlooking the ocean, magical. Although the waiting staff were very efficient they seemed to be concentrating so hard on delivering a perfect service they forgot to smile, it only takes a second and makes so much difference. We had a great meal though and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
