“Smallest and expensive "pizza" I have ever seen”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 June 2014

We ordered 3 "pizzas" and one of it was a child-portion, but it had the same (small) size like the adult ones. Besides non of these "pizzas" were very tasty. They didnˋt took fresh ingredients and the pizza tasted sickly sweet. Although the restaurant was empty, we had to wait 30min for our "pizzas".

“Not really worth it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Visited Antonio's as we wanted something light after a larger lunch and decided that we could share a pizza. We were sat by who I presume to be the owner who was nice and took our drink orders, but following that we were served by the other server, a lady, who's attitude was more brusk and in general seemed like she didn't want to be there. We ordered a pizza (I forget the exact name, but it had Antonio's in it and included squid) which was extremely salty to the point where I couldn't eat more than half a slice without feeling nauseous. The lady previously mentioned gave us a basket of bread without a word which when the bill came turned out to cost a whopping 4 euros. For two bread rolls and some butter that's extortionate.

Because this was on our first day, we only had larger notes to give, with our bill coming to around 13 euros, we had to give a 20 note. The lady must have assumed that was her tip too, because she didn't return with any change. Only after sitting at the table for an additional 15 minutes did she return with our change and a rather sour look on her face. Needless to say she lost any chance of a tip at all. Working in a restaurant myself, I know tips are to be earned, not expected.

“Meh”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2014

We didn't have time to have lunch until late, so a lot of places were closed. Not Antonio's, so we decided to give it a go. There were no other customers, but we thought it was because we were there between lunch and dinner hours. But we walked past on several occasions during our stay, and there were few people in, regardless of hours. I can see why.The pasta was overcooked and just sad. There wasn't really an atmosphere to the place, we just wanted to pay and leave as soon as we could.

Across the street is La Bamba. A bit to the right is Delhi. They both charge less, their food is magnificent and the service just fabulous! That's where you want to go.

“Great staff and superb Poncha Regional”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 April 2014

We spent 2nd great holiday on Madeira and have found this restaurant near hotel Raga where the staff is really nice serving Coral bier and absolutely great Poncha Regional. Their shell-fish soup was really tasty. We were there 4 evenings at least and were enjoying every moment there speaking with Claudia and Mr.Antonio himself. This place can be very recommended!

“Not very impressed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 March 2014

Even if I’ve read several positive reviews from this restaurant, I personally had a not so very good experience. Actually the personal was not at all polite, as they normally are in Madeira, but kind of showed a bad temper. They seemed to be in a big rush, even if we were almost the only customers. We only went there for a small lunch with a paint of beer, but the price was quite high comparing to the value. With the feeling of not being welcomed we were not happy at all.
