So, this quaint little restaurant tucked away in a side street maybe the prettiest setting in Funchal. The staff were so very friendly and helpful with our requests about local information. The food was not so good. Definitely home-cooked style which was great but needed some help with taste and overall presentation. Perhaps we had an off day. Would go back again and choose something different to try because it warrants a return visit.

Unusual setting and very helpful staff. I would recommend the chateaubriand as it was excellent and good value too.

We really enjoyed our meal here. So many places do not make their own soup but the fish soup was definitely homemade and the sauce with the calamari starter likewise, and both gorgeous! We had salmon and shrimps on stone. Shrimps were 19 euros and huge. Prawns were 25 so no idea how they could've been better! Staff very friendly too. Only slight thing is something we have experienced here and in mainland Portugal a lot: veg were pretty poor

I have been working in Cruisse Ships Lines more than 15 years, and every time i am in vacations in Madeira , i can not miss my few meals in there. Special the Surf and Turf , and Espada fish on Hot Stone ,prepered by the Waiter in front off us, It is really the best we can expect , Staff outstanding, Food excelent,and the place the most beautiful restaurant in Funchal
