“It was worth the volcanic ash to stay here”

Easy Jet came up trumps when they placed us 'refugees' in the CS Madeira. The staff were the most helpful I have ever experienced. Despite a very stressful situation, they were charming, helpful and smiling.
The chefs did us proud too.
A very chic, modern hotel is not always everybody's taste, but it is lovely. Give it a try.

CS Maderia Atlantic is excellent!.........The decor is stunning and open plan. My boyfriend booked us into a a Seafront room. Our room was very large with a twin sinks and a huge bathtub and shower. The Bed was huge and very comfortable with large soft pillows. We had a massive flat screen HD TV. From our room we saw whales!!!!!!! This is a fabulous 5* resort hotel. We had a buffet champagne breakfast every morning. I was VERY impressed with the quality of food, it takes a lot to please me as I am a very fussy eater. There was a selection of continental and traditional fry ups but it was done on a very classy level. I sat outside most mornings in the sunshine overlooking the ocean.
On my birthday my boyfriend treated me to the resorts spa which is 25 euros per person. I had a massage for 45 euros which was wonderful. The rooms are stunning and relaxing and the massage was one of the best I have ever had. Usually when you go abroad it can be hit or miss as to the quality. But it was well worth the price. We had full use of the spa all day to ourselves which was an added bonus. Most people tend to use the jacuzzi and pool which is already included in the price. But I must admit the one that you pay for is on another level. There are Cushioned lounger beds that surround the indoor hydrotherpay pool which as its own waterfall. Its all open plan so and we had brillant views of the ocean. It was just so relaxing.
The staff are friendly and very helpful. The maids clean the rooms really well. We played tennis and went bike riding round the island. We also ate out at a few local hotel resturaunts which were really nice. If you turn right and walk past the shops there is a pink hotel which as a chandelier as you enter the food is excellent!!!!!!
Eating at our hotel was expensive 30 euros not including drinks but the food looked excellent. Also if you turn left and and out of the hotel and drive or bike ride 3 miles. You will find a black sand beach with eateries on site. Thats good!

I love this hotel. I would like to thank them for a great time.

I took a well deserved 5 day break from work and miserable British wether and was completely blown away by the location of this hotel. I have to say thanks to Pedro who organised a lovely birthday cake and spa access upon my arrival.

I could not fault the service. The staff are just so lovely. The food was really good in particular the breakfast. So much variation and just perfect in the gorgeous morning sun.

The hotel was not affected by the floods and I did not see any signs of the floods on the visit therefore this should not be a hindrance in coming to this lovely place. I have to mention that the infinity pools (4 of them) excluding the infinity indoor spa bath, is one of the best I have experienced because of its location....trust me, this has to be experienced to be believed. There is also a fully equiped gym, a set of indoor pools and sauna areas. If you are looking for a place that's sunny all year round, just 3hrs away by plane where you can retreat and recharge your batteries, this is the place to be!

We came to Madeira at the end of March with all the reservations following the news of the earlier mudslide and other problems. However, we had a brilliant hoilday and found the CS Madeira a great hotel to stay in. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is excellent and the evening buffet dinner offers a great variety. Staff at reception kept us up to date on special offers and the life guards at the pools were very friendly and helpful. The only slight disappointment was the wine list over dinner which does not seem to offer a house wine below the €20 mark. However, the associated pub offered great food at good value.

Have just returned from our 8th visit to this great hotel and wonderful island. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff for the excellent service we received. Many thanks to Abdel who was always concerned that everything was to our satisfaction. Compliments to the chef and his kitchen staff who produced some excellent evening buffets and as always plentiful breakfasts just a shame there were so few guests to enjoy it.In fact everyone from management through to housekeeping (and especially the bar staff ) who worked so hard through what must be difficult times for all Madeirans. We booked this holiday after the recent floods to show our support and love of this beautiful island. Yes the hotels and restaurants are quiet as lots of people seem to have cancelled their holidays but please go there. The people of Madeira are working so hard to put this tragedy behind them and return to normality. Your holiday will not be affected by what has happened and you will have the opportunity to meet some of the most genuinely kind and pleasant people around.
I look forward to returning to CS and Madeira again in the near future.

We stayed here the week after the terrible floods in Madeira. The hotel was fairly empty, understandable considering the circumstances. However, the staff put a very brave face on things and found them friendly and genuinely concerned with looking after us as well as possible. The hotel seems to be mid-renovation. Facilities: The pools (which were closed for our stay) outside looked nice though the gym I didn't want to use as it was quite gloomy (no windows). Location: Good, halfway between the Lido and the Town. It's a nice 15-20 minute walk past loads of places to eat. Rooms: Clean, ours was a bit worn but very good and room service was very good. Food: Great! Loved the breakfast, a vast buffet with virtually everything to a high standard (scambled eggs the exception!)

Had a fantastic 10 night stay in this lovely hotel in January. Our second visit to the hotel, this stay was even better than the first in 2009. The Manager and staff were helpful and kind throughout the trip - at check in/out, breakfast, the cleaners etc. The room was confortable; beds, chairs all lovely and a very clean room/bathroom etc. We asked for a quiet room with view and our 7th floor room provided all we wanted and with a very sunny balcony.

The only slight problem was that we asked for a wakeup call on the last morning which did not happen, lucky we had a mobile with an alarm otherwise could have missed our flight home. But that is really the only problem in our entire stay.

The food at breakfast was very high quality and always available, dishes being continuously refilled. We ate in the hotel on one evening which was OK but may be not the best meal we had on our holiday.

The outside pool area is lovely and really worth finding. However, to get down to the pool and sunbeds involves taking a lift to the hotel basement, then a walk down a long corridor and then another lift to the pool decking area, there are hardly any signs to help you find the way, perhaps the signage could be imporoved. This area also includes the Spa which looks lovely but I guess could be easily overlooked too.

Would recommend this hotel to anyone really great.
