“Oasis of calm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2014

Returned for a 10 day holiday after being taken ill after only a few days last year and having to return home early. The hotel is set in its own extensive gardens. Each area is very private, rooms, restaurants and pool area. Standard rooms are excellent. Large bathroom with bath/shower, bed is the biggest we have ever seen and still enough space for a seating area.
Room opens out into your own patio area containing 2 sun loungers. All towels are provided including towels at the pool. Wi-Fi coverage is excellent at no extra charge.
Breakfast is served between 7:30 and 10:30. Plenty of fresh fruits, breads, jams, cakes and cooked food to order. All excellent. The food served for dinner is of the highest standard and beautifully presented.
But no matter how good a hotel is it is the staff that make it special. And the staff are very special indeed. Reception are very friendly and will do anything you ask of them to make your holiday go smoothly. The deck bar behind reception now boasts a happy hour between 18:00 and 19:00 so a cocktail before dinner is a must. Restaurant staff are very friendly and efficient, always ready to describe the dishes and recommend wines. Rooms are cleaned to a very high standard.
If you are looking for an oasis of calm within 10-15 minutes walk from restaurants and the sea front then this is the place to stay

Room Tip: As I said in my review standard rooms are particularly good. No need to go for superior

My wife and I stayed here for two weeks.its about ten minutes walk from the sea front.
Up quite a steep hill, but away from the busy streets.
Hotel has lovely gardens around it,hard to tell you were in town.breakfasts are excellent with a choice of fruit, cakes or cooked breakfasts.
Rooms are comfortable and well equipped .free wi if and air con,tea making facilities,
Pool is good, never had to fight for a sunbed.
Would recommend staying here.

Room Tip: Any room is good, downstairs rooms have direct access to gardens. Did not stay in an upstairs one bu...

We stayed in this hotel from 21/07/2014 till 28/07/2014 and absolutely loved it! If you're looking for a peaceful and quiet hotel, this will be a perfect math. The staff is extremely polite and educated, the food is sublime. I cannot find any negative remark at all.
It's bliss!

Room Tip: All standard rooms are located on the ground level. There are not rooms on top = no noise.

This is a lovely hotel set in a sub-tropical garden offering a quiet restful stay in beautiful surroundings. Bedrooms are spacious with doors opening onto a private patio overlooking the lovely gardens offering ample space to relax and unwind. The staff are polite and friendly and couldn't do enough for you. The breakfast menu is really good with plenty of choice, both hot and cold. The restaurant serves lovely food but we found the menu quite limited if you were staying for any length of time, even so the atmosphere and service was delightful.

The Hotel Quinta Da Casa Branca is another delight. The hotel is neatly designed- no surprise that it won an award. Although it only includes 43 rooms you have the feeling of space, space and more space. (How can one stay in those overloaded 350 room hotels after this?) We were welcomed with fresh flowers, a bottle of wine and a generous box of chocolates. The staff noticed from my passport that it was my birthday and gifted me with a nice bottle of champagne and a birthday with. The grounds are so well maintained and colorful, exotic flowers everywhere. The breakfast is delicious - don’t miss the focaccia bread and the dinner also amazing. Take advantage of the Spa! We were offered a holistic massage with hot stones and it was the perfect thing after a hiking the scenic trails. Marília made some fantastic suggestions for sampling the local cuisine- there is a very elegant and superb restaurant called Villa Cipriani a 7 minute walk- outstanding food and a marvelous view. Riso is another must, and for a down home meal drive to Sao. Jorge - Casa de Palha and try Sao’s special fish soup in bread. The staff was happy to ^rint boarding passes and do all to help. It was nearly as intimate as a family hotel. Our send off at Casa Branca was as wonderful as the welcome, but I don’t want to spoil all the surprises. Go to Casa Branca and find out for yourself. Tip: Don’t miss those toboggan rides Funchal offers- a little scary but so much fun!

The hotel came to our expectations and even more. The staff is "super", friendly and they respect our demand for a little bit privacy. The restaurant is also beautiful with fushia colours. Tasteful design. The staff is very polite. Diner is superb.

Room Tip: Lower rooms -1 are very quiet and have a relaxing seperate terrace.
