Can't say enough about the excursion, the guide, the vehicle and the countryside. Our guide Angelo Diaz met us in a designated place (who patiently waited for us to arrive as our ship had not been cleared by the port so we were slightly delayed). The vehicle was clean and as an extra bonus, we were his only guests that morning. Madiera is an amazing place to see and visit but Angelo made it all the more fantastic...and even accommodating with a quick stop for a soda (my spouse hates coffee and needed caffeine). Nun's Valley is stunningly beautiful...the scenery is amazing. One has to have good legs or reliable breaks to live in this amazing area of the world. It really was a pleasure to see the area, not to mention a short stop at the Gaudi house and the glass bridge (not my thing / heights!) Nun's valley an area of the countryside that locals retreated to in times of sieges and invading foreigners....people still live and farm the area but when you consider that back in the day, it was an uphill climb without roads...well, it's pretty amazing. I would like to thank Madeira Mtn. Expiditions and Angelo for a wonderful adventure.
