Description: Located 100 meters from the hotel, the restaurant specializes itself in traditional wood fired cooking. The food is certainly worth travelling for, and many people do. The attraction is a combination of a popular meeting point and a daily local music. Many try the island´s favourite Poncha drink or locally brewed wine. Freshly cooked garlic bread is definetely a draw, while local Madeira product is championed reletlessly - an impressive roster of local suppliers is clearly visible. The menu is typically meaty, featuring the favourite Espetada with a beef, local pork, grilled with skill.

Went to this restaurant twice on dine around while staying at vidamar. The food was very good and plenty of it the folk dancers were an additional bonus. The meat skewers were really good and the house white at €12.50 a bottle was ok too.Once again the service was excellent.

Visited only once but enjoyed. The monkfish was excellent and the beef skewers rare - yum. We enjoyed the entertainment, especially as the performers seemed to be happy performing. The house red was ok - rustic but inoffensive. Good fun.Relatively inexpensive.

Visited during our stay at the Vidamar mainly because the buffet offering at the hotel was so poor. The evening was good with a very restricted menu of meat and fish but the quality was good and service excellent. It's style is more like a Bem Brazil offering in the UK. Certainly worth a visit for a different experience than the usual fare on offer but would not visit more than the once.

We had a great time here for dinner. The staff were attentive and helpful. You just choose the kebab you want and the test is set..... made it very simple. We had beef and Turkey and bacon, both were cooked beautifully. They also have a kids menu if they don't want kebabs. Definitely recommend as a fun place to eat. Children like the costumes and pretty lights and it's not formal at all.

Ate here one evening as part of the Vidamar package. The outside dining and entertainment are both lovely experiences. The menu is set and you get enormous amounts of everything which is quite a waste. My hubby didn't enjoy his steak as it wasn't cooked enough for him but the staff did ask if he wanted it cooking more. The monkfish was really nice
