We returned from the Quinta do Serrado on the 10th September, very reluctantly, it would have been lovely to stay for a further week. The hotel exceeded our expectations in all respects. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the entire hotel is kept pristine, food was of a very high standard and all the staff were more than pleasant and helpful, although the chef could smile a bit more! Michaela is a treasure, she has a wonderful sense of humour and was always willing to help with any problems that arose.
We did not know what to expect from Porto Santo but were very glad that we had visited before the island becomes popular, it will be a great shame to see such a little gem covered in hotels and cheap bars.
We have never stayed anywhere quite so peaceful, to sit on our balcony after dinner, looking at the stars and enjoying the utter silence was indeed an unexpected and very welcome pleasure.
I think we will definitely be returning to Porto Santo in the future and when we do we will certainly be staying at the Quinta do Serrado.

I stayed here between the 10th & 17th of Sept. 2012. While there is an element of truth to the views expressed by the previous post (Xx-Will-xX), I thought it was a little harsh . . . still, everyone is entitled to an opion. Personally, I found total satisfaction with this hotel, as it appears most other clients did. Yes It is a little remote, yes the pool is very small & a fridge would have been welcome . . . however, if you want a haven of peace (with good company as in our case), & genuinely lovely staff, then this hotel is perfect. Just balance the views here before you go.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 216 which overlooked the garden & restuarant areas, this was perfectly adaquet for us. I have to agree with Xx-Will-xX re the views beyond the hotel perimiter so no room position can improve the view.

Whilst not staying here we ate here on most nights on the last week of our holiday. The guests of the hotel we met had nothing but praise for the hotel, its management, staff and general all round presentation.I would certainly recommend this establishment for a quiet break coupled with a diverse and rewarding dining experience.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking outside dining area may be subject to the sound of laughter around midnight!

This hotel and its staff exceded our expectations. It is a hidden gem in the holiday world and deserves to be recognised. From the day we arrived until we left the place was spotless, the staff always helpful, the food of a superior standard and the peace and quiet exceptional. We did nothing for days and had a wonderful time doing it. Look out for Micaela, she is a real asset to the hotel. Just the right amount of humour mixed with a huge amount of knowledge and the ability to answer any question you have or find out the answer if she doesn't know.
Go there, you won't regret it, sit on the balcoy with a Pina Colada and watch the sunset.

Room Tip: There are only two levels but go higher for better views.

We have just returned from a 2 week holiday here and it was one of the most relaxing holidays we have ever had. The hotel was perfect for us! During the day we both relaxed around the small peaceful pool with sunbeds and parasols and ordered lunch at the lovely restaurant (which served either a full menu or a snack menu). The hotel staff were fantastic and there was a courtesy bus which takes you down to the beach each day. We did hire a car during the second week and went to most amazing parts of the beach….the ocean was crystal clear and warm and the sand was so white! Even though the food at Quinta Do Serrado was good, we were not half board and really enjoyed using local restaurants courtesy bus services; I would recommend Panorama, Casa De Ava and Torres (which is a 15 min walk away). We booked the spa every day, it was very nice! Our room was spacious and cleaned every day and the breakfast had enough choice to satisfy us for the 2 weeks. I would recommend this hotel if you want a relaxing holiday away from the hustle and bustle!
