“We loved it!”

Restaurante Adega das Levadas
Cuisines: Grill
Description: Typical restaurant framed a small Family Farm. Immersed in nature, surrounded by a peaceful family environment where we can enjoy local produce such as grapes, melons, watermelons, tomatoes, cabbage, corn and others, as well as enjoy some birds like chickens, pigeons, doves and pheasants. Great place to taste a good wine of Porto Santo, produced by the vineyard of the fifth, and done in their cellar.

A terrific lunch!

They come pick you up at your hotel and drive you to their beautiful, rustic restaurant (and back).
You start with some very delicious Presunto (cured ham), cheese and homemade bread. Then you can choose from different kinds of grilled meats and fishes, that are served with the some very tasteful potatoes and vegetables, grown locally.
And last comes the best Maracuja dessert we have tried in Porto Santo.
Portions are big, service excellent and value for money outstanding.

We were spending a couple of nights on Porto Santo and liked the sound of this place. We made a reservation and took advantage of the free pick up service. The restaurant was nearly empty but we were made to feel very welcome. The setting was idealic with vines all around. The meal was by no means haute cuisine but real food in a beautiful setting. The fish and meat were excellent but the potatoes and salad had so much flavour we assumed they had just been picked and cooked. The big screen TV in the restaurant seemed out of place but only added to the quirkiness of the evening. If you are bored with homogenised hotel food give this a try. We had a great evening!

Food is excellent. Its meat is first rate. The rice made with butter was extraordinary. The attention very good, the waiter, even the owner who came to my hotel to fetch me and take me back (it is rather difficult to find the restaurant) But the problem is that they bring bread, butter, some ham and cheese. But they charge nearly 11 euros for that (0,70 each butter, 3,50 the bread!!! 3 euros a little ham and also 3 euros for some cheese) I could not believe my eyes when I saw that. If he wanted to charge a COUVERT they should give the choice to the client, but not overcharging for something you did not ask for. That is why I say it is POOR.

This restaurant is out of town but they will pick you up and bring you back FOC.

The restaurant is set up on the hillside in a small holding where they grow vegetables and fruit.

The restaurant itself looks a bit like a converted barn and could potentially seat over a hundred diners. During our visit there were six diners in total.

The food and service were excellent although the menu is very limited.

After diner we were taken to a small building with a bar where we could sample local wines and schnapps and you can purchase bottle's to take with you.

Overall a very pleasant experience and one I would recommend you try.
