The hotel is at a great location at walking distance from the beach and some good restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The style is a bit outdated, but as I am staying for business it does not matter too much! Breakfast can be graded as ok, with plenty of choice.

This is sadly a "must see" hotel if you love the 70's. Build in '72 an hardly changed since then. The hotel isn't worn down, it's been kept in good shape...but it's all from the early 70's.

Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, breakfast is average, wifi is really bad, the spa isn't worth a visit. Location is great, right next to the beach.

We (my wife, 2.5 year old daughter and myself) stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The beds were comfortable, and the sofa bed opened up into a double bed, but we kept it as a couch/bed for my toddler because fold out sofa beds often have metal pieces on the edges which could have hurt her if she got down on her own.

The LCD TV had HDMI inputs for your own AV equipment (in my case; my laptop). The TV station list was quite limited, but it didn't affect me.
The air conditioning was cold and kept the room nice and cool. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was extensive, and if something you want has run out, there are plenty of staff on hand to get it out to the buffet table quickly. I requested a room on one of the top floors (level 4) and we had a lovely view of the beach and to the north. The bathroom is large, and consisted of a shower/bath combination. There is a spa on site, but didn't use it.

The hotel has a parking lot with VERY tight spaces; if you need to park on the lower level you need to go right in and do a 3-6 point turn to go down because the angle is very steep. It is very helpful to have a spotter if you are parking in the garage.

Housekeeping were brilliant; I only request housekeeping every second day (don't see any point in it any more than that), and they always cleaned the room immaculately and no risk of theft (left my laptop out, and even our passports and they weren't touched). The fridge is great for storing your own drinks (I hate minibar prices!).

We ordered room service twice. It was quite quick and good value for money. We also had breakfast delivered to the room twice which doesn't cost any extra but you don't get as much selection, still it is very handy if you are a late riser.

Overall, we really enjoyed the stay and would recommend it again as a base if you're looking at a beach holiday which is close to Porto.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the 4th or 5th floor with a sea view.

What was good: view from the balcony on the beach.
What was average: breakfast.
What was not good:
- outdated hotel in every aspect ( build in the 70's and
unchanged since then)
- much to expensive ( € 100,- p.night incl. breakfast)
- very small rooms
- certainly not a 4* hotel
- wifi works (very slow) only in the lobby, unless you
pay extra.

Had a week's stay mainly to visit Porto. Very easy to get to by train.

The hotel was clean, well equipped but dated. Bed was very hard. Spa is free with a nice gym indoor pool & hot Jacuzzi. Couldn't fault the staff.
The resort was very quiet for May and very run down. Would I come back.....I very much doubt it, especially the town. Porto I would recommend a visit.

I have stayed at the hotel several times and generally my stay has been pleasant. The staff are friendly and accommodating and try to make the best of an aging hotel, though at last the hotel has started a refurbishment programme which it badly needs. The location is great, being right on the beach and close to some nice seafood restaurants.

Stayed overnight on our way to Oporto. This is really a very nice, if older property. The friendliness and hospitality of the staff more than make up for the age of the facility. Heck, even I am getting older all the time.
Great views, a fine Breaskfast Buffet, good coffee. Comfortable rooms, good spa facilities (sauna, Turkish, jacuzzi, big pool).
Even tho we are only staying overnight, the Director came to the desk and introduced himself. Classy. Mr. Ruben, the Spa Manager, is very friendly and accommodating. My bride and I booked massages (more of a relaxing rub with oil, than a work out the Knicks massage). I asked about places to eat, and Ruben went out of his way to offer several local suggestions... No better way to find a good place to eat... Ask a local.

Would definitely be a five star property.. Especially based on the staff and service... But she is a bit older and needs some updating. Easy to overlook. Great location for a beach holiday.

Room Tip: Beach views.. Obviously.
