This was the perfect place for staying also with kids. Great location Close to Regua, great value, Nice pool and wonderful hostess. Highly recommended both for couples and families who want something else than the standard hotel.

That's not quite true actually. The previous reviews are all accurate, but we were still overwhelmed by Manuela's care beyond the call of duty from the first to last moment. You can trust all her recommendations regarding restaurants or choice of boat for the Douro trip. Their own wines are very good, well worth taking some home. Breakfast includes fresh orange juice from their own trees, as well as home made jam and home baked bread. They do not automatically offer dinner, but if they do, go for it, it will be great. Otherwise she will find all kinds of little ways to go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Rooms hav all modern comforts while retaining the traditional feel of the quinta. Wifi in public areas only. We arrived as guests and departed as friends. One of the best places we have stayed in, anywhere.

This winery is a little off the beaten path, but boasts modern suites, that are comfortably furnished. Our hostess, Manuela, was very welcoming and friendly. She greet us with some port wine, and later gave us a tour of her winery. It is interesting to learn that they still crush grapes by stomping.

Our room was spacious and clean. However, this time of the year (November) is cold. And even with an electric heater, the room was quite chilly.

We had an ample breakfast in the morning and gave us a tour of the further accommodation facilities here, which would have been ideal for a larger group. One whole wing with a huge, characterful kitchen, and in the back -- a large patio overlooking the countryside and a pool. This would be a great place to with friends and family.

We especially enjoyed the great antiques and old furniture that were just part of her family's heritage.

After a day of driving along the Douro, we found this Quinta by accident, stayed one night but wished we really could have stayed longer. This is a beautiful place...the perfect location to explore the surrounding countryside and the Douro river towns. The entire building complex has been lovingly renovated, the vineyards are incredibly picturesque and the accommodations tasteful and comfortable. Manuela and Fernando, the couple who own and run the Quinta are warm and welcoming with great advice on traveling the area suggesting sights and restaurants to seek out. This is a special place run by special people who treat you like family and friends.

We stayed three nights (November 3, 4, and 5).

The facilities are exceptionally good in terms of quality of finishings, taste, and comfort. The welcome and constant conviviality of Manuella and Fernando were greatly appreciated. Their advice on places to go was spot on. Our meal with them was the fruit of attentive application by Manuella and equal to the quality of wines served. We arrived as customers and left as friends.

All this at prices which, I would recommend to our friends, they should raise a bit. It was almost embarrassing to pay so little for so much.

The only (very slight) reserve is that because of the thickness of the walls, the wifi signal occasionally has trouble arriving. But only occasionally, and there is no problem in moving closer if you have an urgent need to connect.

Room Tip: We visited all four, and they are all of the same outstanding quality. If you want a vast space, ask...

We went with some friends to spend one weekend at Tourais. We have been received by Manuela and Fernando as if we are family and we felt really at home. The rooms have a nice and warming decoration and are very comfortable.
Besides the breakfasts, we had also the chance to dinner in the Quinta, cooked by Manuela, and tasted their wines, and we loved both.
It's truly one experience to repeat.
