This is such a delightful place.....a garden of Eden BUT it could improve !

1). The place has dog mess all over the place. I wouldn't bring children.

2). The tourist information is nil .

3). The house wine (literally) is not the greatest but that's what you get.It grows on you.

4). The swimming pool needs more deck chairs.

5). There is no price list around. You have no idea how much dinner is ( excellent but too much) until you check out .....odd !

6). The lounges are really shops, overcrowded with things you don't want.

As stated Christina is fantastic and holds it all together . We didn't meet the Countess Maria as we were only a few guests which was a shame.

Found this beautiful place on trip advisor which is why I have to share it with others. We stayed there in September 2012 and had one of the best relaxing experiences of our life time. The hotel was very quiet during our stay which made our experience even more memorable. The grounds were beautiful with grapes, figs and other fruits in full bloom. The view from our Suite ( we were graciously given one of their best suites) was magical with the unparalleled serenity of the morning sunrise where all you heard was the gentle wind through the vineyard and the far away roosters from the village below. The manager, Christina (hope I am right on the name)was another reason our stay was unique. She went out of her way to give us the best ambiance for our Dinners( which were delicious) and even graciously accommodated us with an early breakfast during which she set out the whole buffet just for the 2 of us. We also enjoyed both their white and red wines generously offered to us for our dinners. We got a bottle of their red to keep as a souvenir for one of the most romantic times of our life. If you are looking for beauty, serenity and to be transported back in time go here, I doubt you will regret it.

Our family stayed here for a week recently for a wedding. The hotel is set in large grounds full of apple trees, vineyards and we even spotted some kiwis! The rooms are big and the lunch/dinner is grand.. lovely food. Breakfast is continental. There's an outdoor pool too with gorgeous views even if the water was freezing! Don't expect to be in the centre of town or to have latest gadgets as it's not that sort of hotel but it's a great place to come and unwind and wake up to birdsong, in a rural setting. Good for walking too. There's lots of items for sale in all the grand rooms. Special mention to Maria and Cristina who were very helpful.

This was a wonderful experience. The hotel is an elegant residence, with large, comfortable rooms, nice bathrooms. The food was quite good, and reasonable for what they gave you. The owner is a delight; warm and welcoming. Everyone was very helpful.

Room Tip: All rooms are good.

We stayed 3 nights in the end of Oct. 2011. First impressions of warmth faded quickly when the owner ushered us aside to wait as she sold the hotel to others as a wedding venue. We had not eaten lunch and were offered a snack which turned out to be a 24Euro white bread grilled cheese sandwich.
Rooms are large but there is literally a price tag on every item in the house and room.
The family lives on premise and the children leave toys and run through the common rooms. The house is over decorated and not comfortable or friendly. Lights are not turned on and doors are locked. The staff is minimal and does not even answer the hidden doorbell.
One is encouraged to think of the stay in a home but is more like a museum.
