Great flavor in these tasty treats, however they are about half as big again than most Pastel de Bacalhau that you get elsewhere. Add the tangy queijo inside and they a great snack with a cool beer.

If you want to sample some local Portuguese cuisine without splashing out on a complete meal, you may want to try this place. They make a kind of fish croquettes with a tasty Portuguese cheese in the middle - they make it in front of the customers, and you can buy them warm, with the cheese melted in the middle. The croquette is 4 euros, but you will be offered a combination of a croquette with a glass of port, which of course is more expensive. Since I don't drink alcohol, I only had the croquette. The cheese was tasty, but otherwise the croquette was unremarkable.

Pricey but different. Quirky place offering what is essentially cod croquette in quite a strong cheese sauce, accompanied by chilled white port. A regional delicacy which is worth a try but perhaps not worth 9 euros. Pleasant surroundings though and quick service.

The Pastel de Bacalhau (cod fish cake with cheese) is decent, the port is pretty tasty. Freshly cooked, too salty. Crispy on the outside, and melted cheese tangy cheese inside. Service is acceptable, warm and friendly. However, they do get Two Stars because they are overpriced. Tourist Trap! Sit outside at the tables with a view of Clerigos Tower.

Selling cold and tasteless cod cakes with an incredibly small glass of port wine and calling it "the Portugal experience" is ridiculous. Furthermore charging 9€ for it is absolutely overpriced.
But the port was decent and the staff really nice, therefore it gets two points.
