“Room Anaïs”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

My wife and I chose The Poets Inn for our brief stay in Porto during our honeymoon and we did not regret it. A pretty and cosy place, right in the city centre. The room Anaïs.was quiet and comfortable - anything you'd expect from a private room.

My friend and I stayed in a private twin room with private bathroom - it was a great value! If you stay in their sister hostel in Lisbon, you get a 10% discount.

Each room is decorated, based on a famous poem/poet/story. The hostel is very comfortable - rooms are cleaned daily. Only concern is that the private washroom doesn't have an exhaust/fan, so it can take a long time to dry.

Breakfast is included and great. Staff is always available to help. The location is perfect - it's on a quiet street, but very central to all major attractions, restaurants and nightlife.

The hostel was very quiet/empty when we stayed, so there weren't any social events or activities planned, which would have been nice.

The house is very charming, the rooms are beautiful and clean, the staff is very nice and helpful, very good located. We're a young couple and we stayed in a private double room with bathroom. The breakfast is simple but enough.

We stayed in The Poets Inn in a private room with a private bathroom. It was a very nice and quiet room on the first floor, the only thing that could have been better was the matress. For our idea of comfort it was to thin but after a few nights we got used by it.
The location of the hotel is perfect, most things that you need to see when you are in Porto are on a walking distance or you can take a bus, metro or train which are also nearby.
We liked the staff very much, they are all so helpfull and they will assist you when nessecary with everything, just ask!
Breakfast is good, nothing fancy just everything you need with some extra's like fresh fruit everyday and delicious homemade cake. If possible you can eat your breakfast outside on the little patio which is quite charming and peaceful.
The kitchen with full equipement you can also use. We didn't because for our standards dining outside didn't cost that much.
We would certainly recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Porto.

We had a great stay in a 4th floor room, with balcony. The room was decorated in a fresh design that promoted relaxation. The hostel has an excellent location and the staff is very kind. We got a good breakfast with bread, ham, cheese, cereals, fruits and juices. If in Porto we will return!

My husband and I stayed in a private double room(Genet) for four nights. It is a great room in a quiet corner of the inn with what seems like your own private balcony/outside sitting area. The bathroom was shared but it was kept very clean and we hardly saw our neighbors. The bed was firm but comfortable and the room included fresh, line dried towels. Our room got a bit hot, but it was no problem to request a fan from reception to cool things down. The breakfast was basic but included soft fresh buns and steaming hot coffee. Reception was very welcoming and offered great suggestions for where to eat in the city. The inn is fairly central and very close to Clerigos Tower. We loved staying at this quaint hostel/inn and will be sure to recommend it to our friends!

Room Tip: Genet is quiet and situated away from most of the other rooms

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights in the private double and had amazing views of the city from our window. There is a free breakfast offered and towels are provided. Very clean and affordable. It is located near the top but an easy 10 minute walk down to the water and there are some great restaurants and cafés close to the hostel. Also very close to the nightlife which was nice. Definitely would recommend
