This building is only available to view if you pay for a guided tour, which are conducted in multiple languages. We weren't going to, but decided to join at the last minute and we are glad we did. This building is still a working commercial building, so the tour is restricted to only a few areas, but the areas you see are very nice, and the Arab room is nothing short of spectacular. Due to the limited nature of the tour, it is not a particularly long tour, but I would recommend it if you like palaces and beautiful buildings

Don't build up your expectations, just have in mind that you'll enter a historic building connected to worldwide commerce. The price is a bit high in my opinion but if you plan to visit other attractions i recommend the Porto Card which will give you a discount here.

This was a beautiful museum. The rooms were incredible, especially the Arab Room with so much decoration it made my head spin. Allocate at least 2 hours. We had to take a tour that was not in English and missed a lot of the explanations.

While viewing the spectacular Arabic Room of the Palacio our little guided tour was treated to a concert pianist's practice session for that evening's concert which was to take place in this room. Hearing Beethoven in this magnificent setting was a truly unexpected and glorious experience. The guide was very generous to give us a bit more time in the room whose acoustics were fantastic. The rest of the tour was also rewarding with the wood painted plaster sculpturing being especially impressive.

Guided tour (about 30 min) only of the various rooms in this lovely building, simply because it is still a functioning place of commerce. The best (Arab Room) is saved to the end and it is stunning. Beautifully crafted from ceiling to floor, it's like a little touch of Spain's Alhambra right in Porto. A definite must see if visiting Porto.
