The bedroom that we were allocated was very small, although it had pretty much everything we needed in there. There was no wardrobe, although there was a hat stand that we could use to any things up - not ideal, but there was definitely no room in there for a wardrobe or even a chest of drawers! The beds were comfy, the room was clean and the bathroom was great - modern with a double shower. Towels and toiletries were provided. As detailed previously, there was no air con but there was a fan. Our room also had a window. Breakfast was included in our rate (although we never actually had it)/. The owners speak VERY little English, so if you need to do anything other than check in or out you'll need to brush up on your Portuguese.
Unfortunately, the area that this hotel is in is not great. It's on Santa Caterina which is described as the main shopping area, although it's a very long street. The hotel is not in a busy area, there was a dodgy bar down the road, and we also came home on the first night to find a prostitute touting for business on the corner opposite the hotel. I'm quite well travelled and have my wits about me, but I was glad that I was not travelling alone or with other girls as I don't think we'd have felt very safe. It's a shame as for the price we paid this was a reasonable little hotel.
