We booked this hotel in advance for a few days holiday based on reviews and location. It was a bit difficult to find as the building is situated on a tree lined street and the hotel entrance is set back from the pavement under over-hanging offices and is very narrow. We arrived from the airport by Metro and left at the metro station Trindade. On leaving the station, turn right and look at the set of stone steps on the plaza. The hotel entrance is at the top of the steps on the opposite side of the street.

The staff were all very friendly and spoke English. Check in went very smoothly and we found ourselves in a boutique room. It was basic but very comfortable. The room had no iron or trouser press, but there was a safe and a fridge.

The buffet breakfast was extremely good with a great selection of hot eggs, bacon and sausages, cereals, cold meats and cheeses, fresh fruit, toast, pastries and croissants with juice, water, tea and coffee freely available.

The hotel is situated near to the City Hall and the hop-on, hop-off tourist bus stops nearby. It is a 15 minute stroll to the river, but remember it is uphill home!!

Great value for 2 people in a double room for 50€ per room. The reception staff also looked after our cases on the final day to enable us to be out and about prior to a collection at 18:00.

I have stayed in the porto trindade hotel for only one night. It is perfectly located for such a quick visit since it is literally next to the metro which runs from the airport to the city center. The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast did not have a big selection in my opinion, but the products offered were all really good. A slight improvement point would be the bathroom. The strips between the tiles were brown and dirty, not something you would expect in such a hotel. But in the end I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The Porto Trindade is a four star hotel that has undergone a relatively recent refurbishment. It is very modern, very clean and the rooms are spacious and airy with all facilities within the room including a kettle for tea and coffee. We even had a mannequin in our room for hanging clothes on. The beds are very comfortable although the mattresses appear to be hard at first touch.

There was a safe in the wardrobe which was free of charge. The electrics within the room are operated by the key card so is off when the room is not occupied. The weather during our stay was extremely hot and the temperature within the room soon built up, but once operated on our return the air conditioning within the room soon cooled it down. Complimentary bottles of water are left each day by the room maids who also clean the room and change the towels daily.

Breakfast was exceptionally good with a variety of choice to suit all tastes, hot, cold, cakes, pastries, meat, fruit, croissants etc, the list was endless. When the breakfast room is full, replenishment of the hot dishes can be a little slow but that is probably the norm at any busy hotel.

Other than for breakfast we didn't eat at the hotel but there is a small menu if required. Prices for food and drinks at the bar looked a little high but probably no higher than other hotel charges. A voucher for a complimentary glass of port is given to guests as a welcome gesture.

All of the staff in the hotel were very helpful and offered advice and information when asked. The reception staff all spoke English.

The Trindade Hotel was a superb base for our trip as it was very conveniently located just a 2 minute walk across the road from Trindade Metro station. This station is the main interface for most of the metro lines. Trains run frequently and cover the metropolitan area of Porto and beyond as far as the coast at Parvoa do Varzim around 45 minutes away. A 3 day go anywhere ticket is excellent value at 15 euros.

The central area of Porto is conveniently down the road although the main part of the old town and the riverside which is the bustling part of Porto is around a 15 minute walk. Easy walking on the way down but as it is on steep hills it can be a little tiring coming back. Not too good if you have any mobility problems. The metro does not run down to the river but taxis are available to avoid the uphill walk and cost around 4 euro.

This was our first visit to Porto, some friends joined us later in the week and we all agreed Porto is a stunning City, particularly on both sides of the river. There is a lot left t see and so it will not be our last visit. We are already planning to return and the Hotel Porto Trindade will definitely be our hotel of choice again. I would definitely recommend it.

Stayed here for four nights on 17 May. Got the tram from airport to Trindade metro station just across from the hotel. We found the hotel lovely. Got a complimentary glass of port wine on arrival. Room on 8th floor was very clean. Had a complimentary safe, hair dryer and mini fridge with two bottles of water each day. The 9th floor has lovely terrace with seating. Lovely to sit out in the evening. Breakfast was very good. Asked to stay on in the room and they very, very reluctantly let us stay a few hours for €20. Got the impression that they don't do this. Porto is a lovely city with lovely people and we will certainly go back and stay in the Trindade again and will recommend it. Anne Farrell Dublin

This hotel is much better than the 3 star rating. I'd say it is 3+ or even a low 4. The rooms were modern and clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was large. The breakfast was pretty good. The location is ideal. Across the street from a main metro station. The location is very walkable to the old city. Very safe location. I would highly recommend this location for cost conscious travelers.

This hotel is conveniently located near a major metro station making it easy to get to from the airport or around town. Although it is not centrally located in the old part of the city, you are just a short walk away. The hotel itself is modern and clean. The front desk staff were polite and knowledgable. There is a nice bar inside and the included breakfast was satisfying.

Well I was there for a couple of nights with my parents. Overall things were fine. The main drawback was that there was no restaurant. They just have a snack bar where the options were limited. A polite request for a late checkout was also turned down. So that was not all that great. But have to mention that the level of cleanliness and the room quality was very good. The breakfast was also good.
